Atle Teigland
Atle Teigland (born 16 July 1957) is a Norwegian trade unionist. A certified electrical fitter, he was employed by Kværner (now: Aker Solutions) in 1978. In 2004 he was elected to represent the employees on the board of directors at Aker Solutions, having previously held the same position in Aker RGI and Aker Maritime. Representing 5,000 union members as a board representative of one of Norway's largest corporations, he was referred to as a "grassroots giant" by Norwegian newspaper '' VG'' in 2009. He was one of the spearheads in a union resistance to the Directive on services in the internal market, which however was ultimately passed. He has also supported the growth of the petroleum industry, such as a development of the Gudrun gas/oil field. He resides in Tysnes Tysnes () is a municipality in Vestland county, Norway. Kværner
Kværner was a Norwegian engineering and construction services company that existed between 1853 and 2005. In 2004, it was amalgamated to the newly formed subsidiary of Aker ASA - Aker Kværner, which was renamed Aker Solutions on 3 April 2008. Kværner re-emerged on 6 May 2011, when the EPC (engineering, procurement and construction) part of Aker Solutions took the Kværner name. The new Kværner company was listed on the Oslo Stock Exchange on 8 July 2011. History Kvaerner Brug was founded in Oslo in 1853 by industrialist Oluf A. Onsum (1820-1899). Aker Solutions ASA, an engineering company based in Oslo, provides the products, systems and services required to unlock energy from sources such as oil, gas, offshore wind and capture. The company, founded in 1841, was known as Aker Kværner until 2008. Aker Maritime is a defunct Norwegian petroleum industry supply company. Listed on the Oslo Stock Exchange it was controlled by Aker RGI, owned by Kjell Inge Røkke. The company was created in 1996 when Aker's oil and gas division was merged with Maritime Group. In 2001 Kværner was bought by the Aker Group, and Kværner and Aker Maritime were merged to Aker Kværner (now Aker Solutions) in 2004. The Bolkestein directive (officially Services in the Internal Market Directive''2006/123/EC is an EU law aiming at establishing a single market for services within the European Union (EU). Drafted under the leadership of the former European Commissioner for the Internal Market Frits Bolkestein, it has been popularly referred to by his name. It was seen as an important kick-start to the Lisbon Agenda which, launched in 2000, was an agreed strategy to make the EU "the world's most dynamic and competitive economy" by 2010. The Bolkestein directive was harshly criticised by left-wing European politicians, who stated that it would lead to competition between workers in different parts of Europe – hence the expression " Polish plumber" – resulting in social dumping. Gudrun ( ; non, Guðrún) or Kriemhild ( ; gmh, Kriemhilt) is the wife of Sigurd/Siegfried and a major figure in Germanic heroic legend and literature. She is believed to have her origins in Ildico, last wife of Attila the Hun, and two queens of the Merovingian dynasty, Brunhilda of Austrasia and Fredegund. Tysnes () is a municipality in Vestland county, Norway. It is located in the traditional district of Sunnhordland. The administrative centre is the village of Uggdal.
