Atlantic Gardens Veterans Cemetery
Atlantic Gardens Veterans Cemetery is in the United States territory of Puerto Rico. The December 10, 1898 Treaty of Paris transferred Puerto Rico, Guam and the Philippines to the United States control as of December 23 of that year. This cemetery was dedicated in May 2014, and designed for approximately 23,000 burials. Located in the Montaña ward of Aguadilla, the cemetery is on the Garden of Eden Boulevard. The cemetery is owned by the Government of Puerto Rico, grant-funded and operated by the United States Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), which currently manages 155 national cemeteries. In 2016, the VA established the "Pre-Need Determination of Eligibility Program" to assist with advanced planning. The Treaty of Peace between the United States of America and the Kingdom of Spain, commonly known as the Treaty of Paris of 1898 ( fil, Kasunduan sa Paris ng 1898; es, Tratado de París de 1898), was a treaty signed by Spain and the United States on December 10, 1898, that ended the Spanish–American War. The United States Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) is a Cabinet-level executive branch department of the federal government charged with providing life-long healthcare services to eligible military veterans at the 170 VA medical centers and outpatient clinics located throughout the country. Non-healthcare benefits include disability compensation, vocational rehabilitation, education assistance, home loans, and life insurance. Morovis National Cemetery
Morovis National Cemetery is a United States National Cemetery located in the municipality of Morovis, in the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico. It encompasses of land, and was dedicated in December 2020. This cemetery along with the Puerto Rico National Cemetery located in Bayamón, are the only United States National Cemeteries located outside of the United States. The Morovis National Cemetery was built to be operational before the cemetery in Bayamón reached full capacity. History The Morovis National Cemetery was built in Morovis within a 247.5-acre parcel of land that can be accessed from Highway 137 at Km. 11.2. It was built to replace the existing Puerto Rico National Cemetery located in Bayamón, which would reach its capacity in 2022.
