Atlanta Motor Speedway
Atlanta Motor Speedway (formerly known Atlanta International Raceway from 1960 to 1990) is a 1.54-mile entertainment facility in Hampton, Georgia, United States, 20 miles (32 km) south of Atlanta. It has annually hosted NASCAR Cup Series stock car races since its inauguration in 1960. The venue was bought by Speedway Motorsports in 1990. In 1994, 46 condominiums were built over the northeastern side of the track. In 1997, to standardize the track with Speedway Motorsports' other two intermediate ovals, the entire track was almost completely rebuilt. The frontstretch and backstretch were swapped, and the configuration of the track was changed from oval to quad-oval, with a new official length of where before it was . The RAPTOR King of Tough 250 is a NASCAR Xfinity Series stock car race held at Atlanta Motor Speedway in Hampton, Georgia, a few miles south of Atlanta. This race had been Atlanta's lone Busch/Nationwide/Xfinity Series date until 2021 when a second race was added in July. Although it has been shuffled around the schedule several times, most years, it has been held at the beginning of the season in February or March. The Fr8Auctions 208 is a NASCAR Camping World Truck Series race held at Atlanta Motor Speedway. It was initially held from 2004 until 2012 and taken off the schedule in 2013. The race returned to the schedule in 2015 and since then has been held on the Saturday of the race weekend as a doubleheader with the track's NASCAR Xfinity Series race, the Nalley Cars 250, prior to the NASCAR Cup Series' Folds of Honor QuikTrip 500 race at the track on Sunday. History In 2016, Great Clips became the title sponsor of the race. The Ambetter Health 400 is a NASCAR Cup Series stock car racing, stock car race held at Atlanta Motor Speedway in Hampton, Georgia. William Byron (racing driver), William Byron is the defending race winner. This race was originally Atlanta's second race of the season and was run as a late-season event for much of its history. The Quaker State 400 presented by Walmart is a NASCAR Cup Series stock car race that was run annually each March at Atlanta Motor Speedway in Hampton, Georgia from 1960 to 2010 and as a July race since 2021. The race was the first of two races held at the Atlanta track every season, with the Dixie 500, being the second and run at various times (originally November, later October and currently the second race of the season), now run as the Folds of Honor QuikTrip 500. The Alsco Uniforms 250 is a NASCAR Xfinity Series race at Atlanta Motor Speedway in Hampton, Georgia. The race is one of two Xfinity Series races at Atlanta along with the Nalley Cars 250 in the spring. History The track had previously always held one Busch/Nationwide/Xfinity Series race, but in 2021, when the NASCAR Cup Series got a second race at Atlanta for the first time since 2010, this Xfinity Series race was added to the schedule on the same weekend in July as the new Cup Series race.
