Atlanta International Film Festival
The Atlanta International Film Festival was held in Atlanta from 1968 to 1974. It was backed by the city's businessmen and organized by J. Hunter Todd, who later ran the Worldfest-Houston International Film Festival. It went out of business due to financing. The largest donor was in real estate, and when the city's real-estate market crashed, he went bankrupt and was unable to continue sponsoring the event. The awards for the festival were trophies, with large birds on the top and included the "Golden Phoenix award" and "Silver Phoenix award". A new film festival with the name Atlanta Film Festival replaced the defunct event in 1976. Atlanta Film Festival
The Atlanta Film Festival (ATLFF) is a long-running, international film festival held in Atlanta, Georgia operated by the Atlanta Film Society, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. Started in 1976 and occurring every spring, the festival shows a diverse range of independent films, with special attention paid to women-directed films, LGBTQ films, Latin American films, Black films and films from the American Southeast. ATLFF is one of only a handful of festivals that are Academy Award-qualifying in all three short film categories. Eduardo Cemano
Edward Seeman (pseudonym Eduardo Cemano) is an American artist whose works have spanned disparate fields, from award-winning animated television commercials for children to films of artistic nudity and hardcore pornography. He is also known for his cinemaphotography and for his work with Frank Zappa in the 1960s. Career Seeman was born in New York in 1931, and attended both the High School of Music & Art and the Pratt Institute. He began his animation career at Paramount Pictures, making animation cels for shows such as '' Popeye the Sailorman'' and ''Casper the Friendly Ghost''. He won several awards for his work, including Clios and ADDYs. Seeman's career was interrupted when he was drafted into the U.S. Army.
