Atlanta Capitals
The Atlanta Capitals are an American Tier III ice hockey team in the North American 3 Hockey League's South Division. The team's home arena is the Atlanta IceForum in Duluth, Georgia. History The franchise was established in 2013 as the Topeka Capitals and played two seasons out of the 7,777-seat Landon Arena. Led by GM/head coach Anthony Bohn, the Capitals captured the South Division title in their first season. After three seasons with the Capitals Bohn would move on to the Aberdeen Wings (NAHL) as an assistant. In 2018 Bohn was named assistant coach of the Maine Mariners of the ECHL. In 2020 Bohn was named head coach of the Danbury Hat Tricks (FPHL), but the Hat Tricks sat out the season due to COVID-19 restrictions. Bohn moved back to the NAHL in 2021 as the first head coach of the new El Paso Rhinos. The El Paso Rhinos are a junior ice hockey organization based in El Paso, Texas. Their home games are played at the County Events Center located within the El Paso County Coliseum complex. The Rhinos are members of the South Division of the Tier II junior North American Hockey League (NAHL). The organization was originally a member of the Amateur Athletic Union-sanctioned Western States Hockey League from 2006 to 2020. The Granite City Lumberjacks are a Tier III Junior A ice hockey team playing in the North American 3 Hockey League (NA3HL) and plays their home games at the Armadillo Deck Sports Arena, located in Sauk Rapids, Minnesota. The Metro Jets are a non-sanctioned junior ice hockey team that plays their home games at Mount Clemens Ice Arena in Mount Clemens, Michigan. They are members of the Great Lakes Conference in the United States Premier Hockey League's Premier Division. The Federal Prospects Hockey League (FPHL) is a professional ice hockey independent minor league with teams in the Midwestern, Southern, and Northeastern United States. The FPHL began operations in November 2010 as the Federal Hockey League. Don Kirnan is the league's commissioner.
