Atkins Curling Supplies Classic
The Atkins Curling Supplies Classic (formerly the Atkins Curling Supplies Women's Classic and the Atkins Curling Supplies Charity Classic) is an annual bonspiel, or curling tournament, that takes place at the Assiniboine Memorial Curling Club in Winnipeg, Manitoba. The event has also been hosted by the Charleswood Curling Club in Winnipeg and the East St. Paul Curling Club in East St. Paul, Manitoba. The tournament is held in a round-robin format and was part of the World Curling Tour from 2012 to 2019. It began in 2007. Prior to this it was just part of the Manitoba Curling Tour. A men's event was added for 2017. Jamie Ann Sinclair (born February 21, 1992) is an American-Canadian curler from Osgoode, Ontario and is a three-time U.S. National Champion. Her United States Curling Association membership is through the Charlotte Curling Association in Charlotte, North Carolina where she has a number of personal connections. Mackenzie Zacharias (born June 8, 1999) is a Canadian curler from Altona, Manitoba. She skipped her Manitoba rink to a gold medal at both the 2020 Canadian Junior Curling Championships and the 2020 World Junior Curling Championships. Career Zacharias represented Manitoba at the 2016 U18 International Curling Championships and skipped the rink to gold medal, defeating the other undefeated team New Brunswick's Justine Comeau in the final. Beth Peterson (born March 1, 1994) is a Canadian curler from Winnipeg, Manitoba. She currently skips her own team out of the Assiniboine Memorial Curling Club in Winnipeg. Career Peterson won the 2015 Manitoba Junior provincial championship skipping her team of Robyn Njegovan, Melissa Gordon and Breanne Yozenko. At the 2015 Canadian Junior Curling Championships, they finished in fifth place with a 6–4 record. The following season, her team began competing on the World Curling Tour and finished runner-up at the 2015 Mother Club Fall Curling Classic. Barbara Spencer (born Barbara Jay Kirkness, February 14, 1966) is a Canadian curler from Sanford, Manitoba. Spencer is a former Canadian Junior champion and a three-time provincial champion. Career Spencer had a successful junior career, playing third for her sister, Darcy's team. The team won the 1984 Canadian Junior Curling Championships for Manitoba. Jill Thurston (born December 2, 1971) is a Canadian curler. She skipped her own team out of the Granite Curling Club in Winnipeg, Manitoba. Career Juniors Thurston would represent Manitoba at the 1991 Canadian Junior Curling Championships. Darcy Robertson (born Darcy Kirkness, March 13, 1965) is a Canadian curler. She is a three-time provincial champion and former Canadian junior champion. Career Robertson had a successful junior career which involved winning the 1984 Canadian Junior Curling Championships with her younger sister Barb, Janet Harvey and Barbara Fetch. Two years later, Robertson, her sister Barb, Fetch and Faye Irwin would win the provincial women's championship and would be given the right to represent Manitoba at the 1986 Scott Tournament of Hearts.
