Alexander Stadium
Alexander Stadium is a track and field athletics stadium in Perry Park, Birmingham, England. It hosted the athletics and opening/closing ceremonies of the 2022 Commonwealth Games. Other events held there include the annual British Grand Prix between 2011 and 2019 and in 2022, the Amateur Athletics Association Championships, 1998 Disability World Athletics Championships, and English Schools' Athletics Championships. Original construction began in 1975 and the stadium opened in 1976. It is owned and operated by Birmingham City Council. Birchfield Harriers use it as their home stadium, replacing their former home at Alexander Sports Ground. Zak Seddon
Zak William Seddon (born 28 June 1994) is an English runner specialising in the 3000 metres steeplechase. He competed for Great Britain but didn't make the finals of the 2017 World Championships. He won a gold medal at the 2013 European Junior Championships. Early life Zak William Seddon was born in Berkshire, the second of four children to Jeffrey and Kathryn (née Beards). Edward Trippas
Edward Trippas (born 22 September 1998) is an Australian runner who competes in the 3000 metres steeplechase. Early years Trippas was 8 years old when he started in Little Athletics at the insistence of his parents. He enjoyed the social aspect of the sport and started running steeplechase at the age of 15. Within two years he ran a time of 5:55 (2000m steeple) and 9:04 for the 3000m steeplechase. Both performances earned him national medals. In 2017 he made his international debut in the junior event at the World Cross Country Championships. Career Trippas left Sydney and studied at Princeton University where he was coached by Jason Vigilante and ran in the NCAA championships. Trippas took a hiatus from his studies in order to try and concentrate achieving a place at the Olympics. Ben Buckingham
Ben Buckingham (born 8 November 1991) is an Australian track and field athlete who specializes in the 3000 metres steeplechase. Early years Buckingham grew up on a 600-acre cattle farm and started serious running at the age of 10 with his mother. When he was 18 years of age he left his hometown of Myrtleford, Victoria to go to the University of Melbourne. Buckingham continued his running and came third in the 2010 National U20 steeplechase. Buckingham made his international debut at the 2010 World Mountain Running Championships in Slovenia, competing in the junior race. After completing his studies he ran 8:03 (3000m) and 8:54 (steeple) and was placed third in the national championships in the summer of 2016.2017. John Eamon Gay (born 7 November 1996) is a Canadian track and field athlete who specializes in the 3000 metres steeplechase. He competed in the men's 3000 metres steeplechase at the 2019 World Athletics Championships held in Doha, Qatar. He did not qualify to compete in the final. Conseslus Kipruto (born 8 December 1994) is a Kenyan middle-distance runner who specializes in the 3000 metres steeplechase. He was the 2016 Rio Olympic champion in the event. The Commonwealth Games is a quadrennial event which began in 1930 as the British Empire Games. The Commonwealth Games Federation accepts only athletes from the Commonwealth of Nations and recognises records set at editions of the Commonwealth Games. The athletics events at the Games are divided into four groups: track events (including sprints, middle- and long-distance running, hurdling and relays), field events (including javelin, discus, hammer, pole vault, long and triple jumps), road events and combined events (triathlon, heptathlon and decathlon).
