Curtis Thom
Curtis Edward Thom (born June 13, 1986) is a Canadian wheelchair racer. In 2016, he competed at the 2016 Summer Paralympics for Team Canada and won a bronze medal in the T54 4X400-m relay. Early life Thom was born on June 13, 1986, in Burnaby, British Columbia, with spina bifida and hydrocephalus causing fluid build-up in the brain. As a result, he had four operations in the first 10 days of his life and although he had learned to walk by age two, a growth spurt meant he required further surgery for a tethered spinal cord. Thom and his family moved to Mississauga, Ontario when he was four years old and he began wheelchair racing at the age of 10 after being inspired by the 1500m during the 1996 Summer Paralympics. His father, Ken, coached him until his death in 2017 as a result of a scuba diving accident. Thierry Mabicka
Thierry Mabicka (born 14 October 1973) is a wheelchair track and field athlete from Gabon. He participated in the 2008 Beijing Paralympics and was the flag bearer of the Gabon team at the opening ceremony. He participated in the men's 800m T54 athletics, but he could not buy a wheelchair for competition because he was poor, and only one person participated in the competition with a wheelchair for basketball. However, he was disqualified because he was unable to match the wheelchair for competition and was separated greatly, but unlike the wheelchair for competition, it was difficult to turn gently, so he invaded another lane and was disqualified. The Gambia sent a delegation to compete at the 2016 Summer Paralympics in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, from 7–18 September 2016. This was the nation's second appearance at the Paralympics, following their first participation in the 2012 London Paralympics. Marc Andre Schuh (born 12 August 1989 in Bergisch Gladbach) is a German wheelchair sprinter. Life Marc Schuh was born with a spine malformation which keeps him from walking. He finished gymnasium with Abitur in 2007 at the Otto-Hahn-Gymnasium in Bensberg as best of the year in chemistry and physics. In the same year he started his studies at the University of Heidelberg majoring physics. In 2012 he finished his bachelor's degree and started his master, which he finished in 2014; his master thesis is about ''Simulations of the electrostatic and magnetic field properties and tests of the Penning-ion source at THe-Trap''. Richard Nicholson (born 30 June 1970) is an Australian Paralympic powerlifter and athlete. He has competed at five successive Paralympic Games from the 1996 to 2012 Summer Paralympics.
