The Japan National Stadium, officially named and formerly known as or , is a multi-purpose stadium used mostly for association football in Kasumigaoka, Shinjuku, Tokyo, Japan. The facility served as the main stadium for the opening and closing ceremonies, as well as the venue for track and field athletics events at the 2020 Summer Olympics and 2020 Summer Paralympics in 2021. Demolition of the old National Stadium was completed in May 2015, allowing for the construction of the new stadium to begin on 11 December 2016. The original plans for the new stadium were scrapped in July 2015 by Japanese prime minister Shinzo Abe, who announced a rebid after a public outcry prompted by increased building costs. As a result, the new design was not ready for the 2019 Rugby World Cup, as originally intended. Wen Xiaoyan (born 12 October 1997) is a Chinese Paralympic athlete. She represented China at the 2016 Summer Paralympics and she won two gold medals and one silver medal. She also won three gold medals at the 2020 Summer Paralympics held in Tokyo, Japan. Career Wen won the gold medal in the women's long jump T37 event and the silver medal in the women's 400 metres T37 event. Irmgard Bensusan (born 24 January 1991) is a South African born Paralympic sprinter who now competes for Germany, mainly in T44 classification events. Bensusan competed at the 2016 Summer Paralympics where she won three silver medals in the 100, 200 and 400 metre sprints. Personal Bensusan was born on 24 January 1991 in Pretoria, South Africa.
