Athletics At The 2017 Southeast Asian Games
The athletics competitions at the 2017 Southeast Asian Games in Kuala Lumpur took place at Bukit Jalil National Stadium in Bukit Jalil. The marathon event meanwhile, was held in Putrajaya. The 2017 Games featured competitions in forty-five events (23 events for men and 22 events for women). Bukit Jalil National Stadium
The Bukit Jalil National Stadium (Malay: Stadium Nasional Bukit Jalil) in Bukit Jalil, located in the National Sports Complex to the south of the city centre of Malaysia's capital city, Kuala Lumpur, is an all-seater multi-purpose stadium and the home ground of the Malaysian national football team. With a capacity of 87,411, it is the largest in Southeast Asia, third largest in Asia, and the eighth largest football stadium in the world. Soh Rui Yong (born 6 August 1991) is a Singaporean national long-distance runner, and holder of four national records: 5,000m, 10,000m, half marathon and marathon. In 2017, Soh became the first Singaporean male marathoner to win back-to-back SEA Games titles when he won gold again at the Southeast Asian Games. He has been enrolled in University College London’s law school since 2021. Soh was embroiled in 3 legal disputes involving former national runner Ashley Liew, as well as Singapore Athletics and Malik Aljunied of the Singapore National Olympic Council between 2019 and 2022 which led him to be excluded from participating in two consecutive SEA Games in 2019 and 2021. Agus Prayogo (born 23 August 1985 in Bogor) is an Indonesian long-distance runner. He currently holds the Indonesian national records for the 3000 metres, 5000 metres, 10,000 metres, and half marathon. Early life Agus Prayogo is of Javanese descent, and was born in Bogor, West Java to Prayitno (father) and Supriyaningsih (mother). Prayogo spent his childhood in Magelang, Central Java.
