Paralympic Athletics
Para-athletics is the sport of athletics practised by people with a disability as a disabled sports, parasport. The list of athletics events, athletics events within the parasport are mostly the same as those available to able-bodied people, with two major exceptions in wheelchair racing and the club throw, which are specific to the division. The sport is known by various names, including disability athletics, disabled track and field and Paralympic athletics. Top-level competitors may be called elite athletes with disability. Competitors are typically organised into three broad categories: deaf sports, athletes with a physical disability, and athletes with an intellectual disability. Deaf athletes typically compete among themselves, while athletes with physical and intellectual disabilities are usually assessed and given a para-athletics classification, which groups together athletes with similar ability levels. Prawat Wahoram (; born 24 March 1981) is a Paralympian athlete from Thailand competing in category T54 wheelchair racing events. He competed for Thailand in six Paralympic Games from 2000 to 2020 and got the total of seven gold, eight silver, and one bronze medals. He is considered the most successful Thai Paralympic athlete. Career Competing in wheelchair athletics, Wahoram has represented Thailand at the Paralympic Games on six occasions. He won his first medals, two gold, at the 2000 Summer Paralympics in Sydney, winning the 5000 m and 10000 m races in the T54 category. Wahoram competed in the 2004 Summer Paralympics at various distances, the 800 m, 1500 m, 5000 m and 10000 m race. Muhammad Ziyad Zolkefli
Muhammad Ziyad bin Zolkefli (born 15 March 1990) is a Paralympic athlete from Malaysia who competes in T20 classification shot put events. He is the current world record holder in his event. Zolkefli represented Malaysia at the 2012 Summer Paralympics in London, where he won the bronze medal in the shot put. As well as Paralympic success, Muhammad Ziyad has won both the World Championship and Asian Para Games titles in his sport, in 2013 and 2014, respectively. Datuk Abdul Latif bin Romly (born 31 March 1997) is a Malaysian Paralympic athlete who broke T20 long jump world record 3 times on the same day and won Malaysia's third gold medal on September 11 at the 2016 Paralympic Games in Rio de Janeiro. 2015 ASEAN Para Games
The 2015 ASEAN Para Games, officially known as the 8th ASEAN Para Games, and commonly known as Singapore 2015, was a Southeast Asian Disabled sports, disabled multi-sport event held from 3 to 9 December 2015 in the city-state of Singapore. Unlike the previous editions the games were held six months after the closing of the 2015 Southeast Asian Games. This was Singapore's first time as host of the ASEAN Para Games. Around 1811 athletes participated at the Games, which featured 336 events in 15 sports. Singapore is the seventh nation to host the event after Malaysia, Vietnam, Philippines, Thailand, Indonesia and Myanmar. It was opened by Tony Tan Keng Yam, the President of Singapore at the Singapore Indoor Stadium. The final medal tally was led by Thailand, followed by Indonesia and Malaysia with host Singapore in fifth place. Sopa Intasen is a paralympic athlete from Thailand competing mainly in category T53 sprint events. Biography Sopa has competed in four Paralympics winning four medals.
