Athletics At The 2005 Bolivarian Games
Athletics (sport), Athletics competitions at the 2005 Bolivarian Games were held at the Estadio Centenario (Armenia, Colombia), Parque del Atletismo en el Estadio Centenario de Armenia in Armenia, Quindío, Armenia, Colombia, between August 18–21, 2005. Gold medal winners from Ecuador were published by the Comité Olímpico Ecuatoriano. Bayron Efrén Piedra Avilés (born August 19, 1982 in Cuenca) is an Ecuadorian middle distance and long-distance runner. He won the 2007 and 2008 editions of the Guayaquil Marathon. He also competed at the 2004 Olympic Games, the 2005 Summer Universiade, the 2007 World Championships, the 2008 Olympic Games and the 2012 Olympic Games without reaching the final round. He demonstrated his regional strength with a double gold in the 1500 metres and 5000 metres at the 2009 South American Championships in Athletics. Simoncito Silvera (born 20 August 1982) is a Venezuelan former track and field athlete who specialised in the 800 metres. He holds a personal best of 1:47.26 minutes for the distance. Francisco Aguirre (born 1 September 1977 in Buenos Aires) is an Argentine footballer, who currently plays for FC Naters in Switzerland.
