Athletes Unlimited Basketball
Athletes Unlimited Basketball is a women's professional basketball league in the United States, founded in 2022. Athletes Unlimited announced the intention to create a basketball league on October 12, 2021, following the creations of Athletes Unlimited Softball, Athletes Unlimited Volleyball, and Athletes Unlimited Lacrosse. League History Athletes Unlimited was founded by Jonathan Soros and Jon Patricof. There are no team owners, and league investors are capping their returns. Athletes share in the league profits, and are involved in the daily decision making. The format in which teams are redrafted each week allows athletes to accumulate points for both individual and team performances, culminating with one individual winner. Basketball Competitions In The United States
Basketball is a team sport in which two teams, most commonly of five players each, opposing one another on a rectangular court, compete with the primary objective of shooting a basketball (approximately in diameter) through the defender's hoop (a basket in diameter mounted high to a backboard at each end of the court, while preventing the opposing team from shooting through their own hoop. Nazahrah Ansaria Hillmon (born April 5, 2000) is an American professional basketball player for the Atlanta Dream of the Women's National Basketball Association (WNBA). She played college basketball at Michigan, where she is Michigan's all-time leader in rebounds, double-doubles, and free throws made. The 2023 Season will be the Athletes Unlimited Basketball's second in existence. The season will be played in Dallas, Texas and will run from February 22 to March 25. The format in which teams are redrafted each week allows athletes to accumulate points for both individual and team performances, culminating with one individual winner. Players Scoring system There are multiple ways for players to accumulate points during games to make their way into 1 of the 4 captain spots. Win Points Win points are all about the team performance. They accumulate during both individual quarters and overall game wins. Each quarter is worth +50 points and overall games are worth +150 points. If a quarter is tied, the points roll over to the subsequent quarter. Game MVPs After each game, the players and members of The Unlimited Club will vote for players who they feel had standout performances. These points will be added to the player's individual total. Natasha Cloud (born February 22, 1992) is an American professional basketball player for the Washington Mystics of the Women's National Basketball Association (WNBA). Tianna Bartoletta née Madison (born August 30, 1985) is an American track and field athlete who specializes in the long jump and short sprinting events. She is a two-time Olympian with three gold medals. At the 2012 Summer Olympics she placed fourth in the 100m race then won her first gold by leading off the world record-setting 4 × 100 m relay team. The format in which teams are redrafted each week allows athletes to accumulate points for both individual and team performances, culminating with one individual winner. Tianna Hawkins became the inaugural Overall Season Winner - finishing with 6,836 points. She also led in many statistical categories.
