Athelstan Charles Ethelwulf Long, CMG, CBE (2 January 1919 – 31 July 2019) was a British colonial administrator. He was commissioned into the Royal Artillery on the 24th February 1940. He was the Administrator, then Governor of the Cayman Islands from 1968 to 1972. He was the son of the writer Marjorie Bowen Margaret Gabrielle Vere Long (née Campbell; 1 November 1885 – 23 December 1952), who used the pseudonyms Marjorie Bowen and Joseph Shearing, was a British author who wrote historical romances, supernatural horror stories, popular history and ... The Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and Saint George is a British order of chivalry founded on 28 April 1818 by George IV, George IV, Prince of Wales, while he was acting as prince regent for his father, George III, King George III.
