Atco (Atlas Chain Company) Limited was a British mower company which traded as "Atco Ltd" from 1981 to 1990, making lawn mowers and garden tools. It sold a range of lawn mowers including lawn and garden tractors. History Atco is the trade name for lawn mowers derived from the Atlas Chain Company, founded by Charles Henry Pugh in 1865, which made chains for ships. Mowing machines (replacing scythes) were drawn by horses but, after a horse died while pulling a mower around his company's facility, Pugh created a petrol lawnmower, which became the first of its kind to be mass-produced anywhere in the world. Charles H Pugh Ltd started making motor mowers with a -wide cut. The Atco motor mower was an immediate success. 900 of them were made in 1921, each costing £75. ATCO Records is an American record label founded in 1955. It is owned by Warner Music Group and operates as an imprint of Atlantic Records. After several decades of dormancy and infrequent activity under alternating Warner Music labels, the company was relaunched by Atlantic Records in early 2020. Arnold Transit Company was a ferry boat company serving Mackinac Island in Michigan for 140 years. In late 2016 Arnold Line's Assets including the boats, docks along with its name were purchased by Star Line Mackinac Island Ferry Service , who continues to operate it today. Atco Dragway' is a 1/4 mile dragstrip located in the Atco section of Waterford Township, New Jersey. History Built in 1959, The first racers (Motor Masters hot rod club ) started at the top end racing towards the starting line. They then helped open the track on Mermorial day weekend 1960 as the official opening date. Officially Opened Memorial Day weekend 1960, it is the oldest drag strip in New Jersey. ATCO Field is a soccer stadium at Spruce Meadows in Foothills County, Alberta, Canada. It is home to Cavalry FC of the Canadian Premier League.
