Atanas Sapundzhiev (born 14 July 1950) is a Bulgarian boxer. He competed at the 1972 Summer Olympics and the 1976 Summer Olympics. The 1972 Summer Olympics (), officially known as the Games of the XX Olympiad () and commonly known as Munich 1972 (german: München 1972), was an international multi-sport event held in Munich, West Germany, from 26 August to 11 September 1972. The event was overshadowed by the Munich massacre in the second week, in which eleven Israeli athletes and coaches and a West German police officer at Olympic village were killed by Palestinian Black September members. The motivation for the attack was the ongoing Palestinian-Israeli conflict. Viktor Ivanov (8 October 1956 – 23 November 2007) was a Ukrainian boxer. He competed for the Soviet Union in the men's heavyweight event at the 1976 Summer Olympics. Mircea Șimon
Mircea Șimon (born 22 January 1954) is a retired Romanian heavyweight boxer. He took up boxing in 1971 at Dinamo Bucharest, coached by Constantin Nour, and won a silver medal at the 1976 Olympics, losing to Teófilo Stevenson in the final. Șimon also won four national senior titles and two bronze medals at the European Amateur Boxing Championships. In 1978 he fled to the United States, where in 1978–1979 he fought 14 bouts as a professional with a record of 12 wins and two draws. He later returned to Romania and coached Marian and Dorel Simion.
