Asturias F.C.
Asturias F.C. (currently Centro Asturiano de México) was a sports club located in Mexico City, established in 1918. The squad played in the Primera Fuerza, Liga Mexicana de Football Amateur Association, the first and main league prior to the professionalisation and development of the Liga MX, Primera División de México in 1943. Asturias would overcome Real Club España, club along which were known as the "foreign legion (Legión extranjera)" in the 1943–44 season after finishing with a similar record. The first final in the Mexican professional league was won by Asturias after beating R.C. España by 4–1 and thus becoming the first champion in the professional era. Parque Asturias
Parque Asturias was a multi-use stadium in Mexico City, Mexico. It was initially used as the stadium of Asturias F.C. and Atlante F.C. matches. It was replaced by Estadio Azteca in 1966. The capacity of the stadium was 25,000 spectators. History On March 1, 1936, being president José Díaz Bernardo, opened Parque Asturias with a match between Asturias and Botafogo Brazil. Copa Mexico
The Copa MX (formerly called Copa Tower Monterrey, Copa Eliminatoria, Copa México and Copa Corona MX (for sponsorship reasons)) was a Mexican football cup competition that was established in 1907. After a lengthy hiatus that began in 1997, it was restored in 2012. On early editions of the cup, it consisted of both professional and amateur stages. It was the first official tournament that included teams from different parts of Mexico and was considered a prestigious tournament, especially during its earlier years of existence. The original purpose of the competition was to determine a national champion, thus distinguishing it from the local league championship. Centro Asturiano de México (formerly Club Asturias) is a Mexican sports club located in the Mexico D.F.
