Asturian Nationalism
Nationalism and regionalism is present in the political spectrum of the Principality of Asturias, northern Spain. Asturian nationalist parties such as Partíu Asturianista had representation in the Asturian parliament and government, and others such as Andecha Astur had representation in some municipalities. However, nationalism is more of a social than a political movement. History These movements are rooted in the stages of political sovereignty that Asturias experienced, beginning with the Kingdom of Asturias between the years 718 and 925, followed a millennium later with the declaration of sovereignty of The General Assembly of the Principality of Asturias of 1808, the Socialist Asturian Republic in 1934 and the Sovereign Council of Asturias and León of 1937 as highlights, although the two last are not nationalistic. Darréu
Darréu–Mocedá d'Izquierda Soberanista ( Asturian for: ''Now–Youth of the Souverainist Left'') is a left-wing Asturian nationalist youth organization. It is based in the Asturias region of northwestern Spain. Ideology Darréu defines itself as a left-wing nationalist organization which tries to be the point of reference for the political movements of the left-wing asturian nationalist and pro-independence youth. The ideology of Darréu focuses on building a project based in youth activism to call for the recognition of Asturias as a nation and for the social rights of the working class. Conceyu Abiertu (''Open Council'' or ''Open Municipality'' in Asturian language) is an Asturian political organization of left-wing and Asturian nationalist ideology. Conceyu Abiertu emerged as a municipalist platform in the municipal and regional elections of 2011. Unidá is an Asturian federation of parties formed by Asturian Left, members coming from Andecha Astur, and by the local parties Andecha por Carreño, Asturianistes por Nava and Asturianistes por Piloña, forming a local series of groups with the name of Unidá such as Unidá-Avilés or Unidá-Uviéu. Asturian Nationalist Council (in Asturian: ''Conceyu Nacionalista Astur'' or CNA), was a political party in Asturias, Spain. The CNA was Asturian nationalist and socialist party. History CNA was created by young nationalists determined to break with the Asturian political tradition, and to offer an Asturian nationalist and left-wing alternative to the state-building process during the Spanish transition.
