Charles Andrew Bothwell (born December 13, 1981), better known by his stage name Astronautalis, is an American alternative hip hop artist currently based in Brooklyn, New York. History After gaining some recognition in local circles in Jacksonville, Florida and competing at Scribble Jam, Astronautalis self-released his debut album, ''You and Yer Good Ideas'', in 2003. He eventually signed with Fighting Records and the record was re-released in 2005, followed by his second album, ''The Mighty Ocean and Nine Dark Theaters'', in 2006. He released the third album, ''Pomegranate'', on Eyeball Records in 2008. In winter 2009, he toured with the Canadian indie rock band Tegan and Sara through Europe, and supported them again through the spring of 2010 in Australia. Music videos were created for "Trouble Hunters" and "The Wondersmith and His Sons". Critical reception Cap Blackard of ''Consequence of Sound'' gave the album a grade of A+, saying, "''Pomegranate'' is intricately constructed and diverse in its musical and lyrical make-up." ''Never Better'' is the third solo studio album by American rapper P.O.S. It was released on Rhymesayers Entertainment in 2009. It peaked at number 106 on the ''Billboard'' 200 chart. Production Over half of the record is produced by P.O.S himself, along with contributions from Doomtree producers Lazerbeak, Paper Tiger and MK Larada. It features guest verses from Doomtree compatriots Sims, Cecil Otter and Dessa, as well as Astronautalis. Release The first single "Goodbye" was released in December, 2008. The second single "Drumroll (We're All Thirsty)" was released in January, 2009 on iTunes and Amazon.com. Noah Raymond Brickley (born February 10, 1978), better known by his stage name Noah23, is a Canadian-American hip hop artist from Guelph, Ontario. He is co-founder of the Plague Language collective and record label, and has been described as "one of Canada's best, most underrated MCs". Career Noah Raymond Brickley was born in 1978 in Natchez, Mississippi and moved to Guelph, Ontario at the age of 4. He began rapping in the early 1990s and released his first album, originally titled ''Plague Language'', in 1999. Charles Allen Ragan (born October 30, 1974) is an American singer, songwriter, and guitarist. He is the guitarist and vocalist of the band Hot Water Music. Ragan has also released a variety of solo material, including a series of 7-inches on No Idea Records, a live album and three studio albums on Side One Dummy Records. Andrew Sims (born October 19, 1982), better known mononymously as Sims, is an American rapper from Minneapolis. He has been a member of Doomtree and Shredders. Early life Sims was born Andrew Sims on October 19, 1982 in Minnesota. He grew up in Hopkins, a suburb of Minneapolis. His parents were former musicians. He first began creating music at an early age when his father bought him a Casio SK-1 keyboard. At a young age, he began writing lyrics, not necessarily rap.
