Astra Ploieşti
Asociația Fotbal Club Astra Giurgiu (), commonly known as Astra Giurgiu or simply Astra, was a Romanian football club based in the city of Giurgiu, Giurgiu County. Founded in 1921 in Ploiești as ''Clubul Sportiv Astra-Română'', it spent the majority of its history in the lower leagues. On 19 October 2022, the club was officially shut down. Astra only began to achieve success in the late 1990s under the ownership of businessman Ioan Niculae, having reached the top flight for the first time in 1998. In 2012, after more than nine decades in Prahova County, it moved its home ground south to Giurgiu, a city at the border with Bulgaria. On short notice, Astra became a prominent figure in Romanian football and head coach Marius Șumudică won it the national title in the 2015–16 season. Stadionul Marin Anastasovici
Marin Anastasovici Stadium is a soccer-specific stadium in Giurgiu, Romania. It is built on the site of the former stadium. The venue was opened in 2014 and formerly served as the home for Astra Giurgiu until they folded in 2022. It has a seat capacity of 8,500. The first game for Romania at Giurgiu was a friendly match against Lithuania on 23 March 2016. The stadium also hosted various UEFA Europa League matches but also a match from the UEFA Champions League qualifying rounds. Supercupa României
The Supercupa României ( en, Romanian Supercup) is a Romanian football championship contested by the winners of the Liga I and the Cupa României. It is usually played at the Arena Națională in Bucharest. The competition started off in 1994, with the first edition being won by Steaua București. In 2010, for the first time in its history, the Supercup was held even though CFR Cluj had been victorious in both the league and the cup in the previous season. At that time, they faced Unirea Urziceni, the Liga I runners-up. The most successful performer so far has been FCSB with 6 wins, followed by Rapid București and CFR Cluj with 4 wins each up until 2021. Boldești-Scăeni
Boldești-Scăeni (), often spelled ''Boldești-Scăieni'', is a town in Prahova County, southern Romania. Located about 15 km north of Ploiești, it is an important oil-extraction center. It is situated in the historical region of Muntenia. History The town was created in 1968 by the unification of two neighbouring communes, Boldești and Scăeni. One village, Seciu, is administered by the town. The phalanstère Scăeni was the location of the only attempt to create a Charles Fourier-type phalanstère in Romania. In 1835, Theodor Diamant, a utopian socialist who had met Fourier in Paris, created the phalanstère, named ''The Agronomy and Manufacturing Society'', on a patch of land provided by Emanoil Bălăceanu, a local land-owner. The Wallachian authorities saw this enterprise as a threat and took a stand against it. Câmpina () is a city in Prahova County, Romania, north of the county seat Ploiești, located on the main route between Wallachia and Transylvania. Henri Deterding
Henri Wilhelm August Deterding, KBE (19 April 1866 – 4 February 1939) was one of the first executives of the Royal Dutch Petroleum Company and was its general manager for 36 years, from 1900 to 1936, and was also chairman of the combined Royal Dutch/Shell oil company. He succeeded the founder of Royal Dutch, Jean Baptiste August Kessler, when he died, and made Royal Dutch Shell a competitor to John D. Rockefeller's Standard Oil and one of the world's largest petroleum companies. In association football, kit (also referred to as a strip or uniform) is the standard equipment and attire worn by players. Asociația Clubul Sportiv Petrolul 52, commonly known as Petrolul Ploiești () or simply as Petrolul, is a Romanian professional football club based in Ploiești, Prahova County, which competes in the Liga I. The Former Ploiești derby ( ro, Fostul derbi al Ploieștiului) is the name given in football to any match between Romanian clubs Petrolul Ploiești and Astra Giurgiu. The two sides have won a combined eleven domestic titles, and as of 2021 Petrolul competes in the Liga I, while Astra plays in the Liga III.
