Assyrian Patriotic Party
The Assyrian Patriotic Party ( aii, ܓܒܐ ܐܬܪܢܝܐ ܐܬܘܪܝܐ, commonly known as Atranaya) is a political party in Iraq representing Assyrians that has been led by Emanuel Khoshaba Youkhana, since the 4th APP conference in Duhok in 2011. In 2018 they allied with the Assyrian Democratic Movement in a political group called the National Rafidain List for the 2018 Iraqi parliamentary election. History The Assyrian Patriotic Party was founded on July 14, 1973, in Baghdad, during the visit of Yaqu Malik Ismail to Iraq, who was accompanied by a delegation from the Assyrian Universal Alliance. Within a short period of establishing the party, because of the nationalist drift between young Assyrian number of members belonging to the party palhundreds, even though the party was a secret to be done, he had been working very actively under the various aspects of social activities, sports and cultural rights. Emanuel Khoshaba Youkhana
Emanuel Khoshaba Youkhana (Arabic: عمانوئيل خوشابا يوخنا) is the current president of the Assyrian Patriotic Party, based in Iraq. Assyrian Homeland
The Assyrian homeland, Assyria ( syc, ܐܬܘܪ, Āṯūr or syc, ܒܝܬ ܢܗܪ̈ܝܢ, Bêth Nahrin) refers to the homeland of the Assyrian people within which Assyrian civilisation developed, located in their indigenous Upper Mesopotamia. The territory that forms the Assyrian homeland is, similarly to the rest of Mesopotamia, currently divided between present-day Iraq, Turkey, Iran and Syria. In Iran, the Urmia Plain forms a thin margin of the ancestral Assyrian homeland in the north-west, and the only section of the Assyrian homeland beyond the Mesopotamian region. The majority of Assyrians in Iran currently reside in the capital city, Tehran. The Assyrians are indigenous Mesopotamians, descended from the Akkadians and Sumerians, who developed independent civilisation in the city of Assur on the eastern border of northern Mesopotamia.
