The Associação Desportiva RJX and thereafter RJ Vôlei was a Brazilian volleyball team based in Rio de Janeiro, Rio de Janeiro (state), Rio de Janeiro state. They compete in the Brazilian Men's Volleyball Superliga, Brazilian Superliga and were the 2012–13 national league champions. History The team was founded in 2011 with sponsorship and support of EBX Group controlled by business magnate Eike Batista in partnership with the Government of the State of Rio de Janeiro, marking the return of a men's volleyball team in the Rio city. In 2013 following the loss of the main sponsor, the club changed its name to RJ Vôlei. After finishing fifth in the 2013–14 Brazilian Superliga the team withdrew from the following season due to financial troubles. Ginásio Do Maracanãzinho
Ginásio Gilberto Cardoso or Ginásio do Maracanãzinho, sometimes called just Maracanãzinho ("Little Maracanã" or "Mini Maracanã"), is an indoor arena located in Maracanã in the north zone of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. It is used mostly for volleyball. Its formal name, Ginásio Gilberto Cardoso, honors a former Clube de Regatas do Flamengo president. The capacity of the arena is 11,800 and it was opened in 1954. It stands next to the Maracanã Stadium. History Maracanãzinho's construction started on April 13, 1954 and lasted for only five months. It was built by Construtora Prolar S.A. The architects were Rafael Galvão, Pedro Paulo Bernardes Bastos, Orlando Azevedo and Antônio Dias Carneiro, the engineer was Joaquim Cardoso. Dante Guimarães Santos do Amaral (born 30 September 1980) is a former Brazilian professional volleyball player, who is best known as Dante. Measuring and , he played in the position of outside hitter. He was born in Itumbiara. Biography Early years Career Dante began his professional career in 1999 with the club Tres Corações. After another two years at Brazilian clubs Suzano São Paulo and Minas Belo Horizonte, in 2002 he got transferred to Italy, playing with Pallavolo Modena, where he won the CEV Cup. In 2005 he joined Greek team Panathinaikos. He won the Greek championship in 2006 and the Greek cup and supercup in 2007.
