The Associação Carlos Barbosa de Futsal, usually known as Carlos Barbosa or by the acronym ACBF, is a Brazilian futsal club from Carlos Barbosa, Rio Grande do Sul state. Founded on March 1, 1973, it is one of the most successful clubs of the sport in Brazil. History Associação Carlos Barbosa de Futsal was founded on March 1, 1973, after two local Carlos Barbosa city clubs, Real and River, fused. The club color, orange, was chosen after the 1974 FIFA World Cup Netherlands national football team. In 1996, the club won the state championship. Five years later, Carlos Barbosa won for the first time both the Taça Brasil de Futsal and the Liga Futsal. In 2002 and in 2003, Carlos Barbosa won both the South American Club Futsal Championship and the Recopa de América. Futsal Clubs Established In 1976
Futsal is a football-based game played on a hard court smaller than a football pitch, and mainly indoors. It has similarities to five-a-side football and indoor football. Futsal is played between two teams of five players each, one of whom is the goalkeeper. Unlimited substitutions are permitted. Unlike some other forms of indoor soccer, it is played on a hard court surface marked by lines; walls or boards are not used. It is played with a smaller, harder, lower-bounce ball than football. The surface, ball and rules favour ball control and passing in small spaces. The game emphasizes control, improvisation, creativity and technique. Naming ''Futsal'' comes from the Portuguese ''futebol de salão'' and from the Spanish ''fútbol sala'' or ''fútbol de salón'' (all translatable as "indoor football"). Mithyuê
Mithyuê de Souza Linhares (born October 16, 1989 in Chapecó, Santa Catarina) or simply Mithyuê, is a Brazilian retired footballer and a current futsal player, who plays for Jaén Paraíso Interior FS. He is the cousin of fellow futsal player Sérgio Jamur. Career Futsal career Mithyuê was born in Chapecó, and started to play futsal at the age of six. He became a professional when he turned 17, playing for Joinville in Liga Futsal. He soon became well known in Brazil as the successor of Falcão, the best futsal player in the world. Mithyuê lead his team to a league runner-up campaign, scoring 13 goals, and was named rookie of the year and the best flanks position player, alongside Falcão. Also in 2007, he earned his first cap for the Brazil national futsal team, at age of 17, making him one of the youngest players ever to receive a cap.
