Hassan Ghafourifard
Hassan Ghafourifard ( fa, حسن غفوریفرد) (born 5 August 1943) is an Iranian academic and conservative politician. Ghafourifard held government portfolios in the 1980s, before being appointed as the Physical Education Organization under president Akbar Hashemi Rafsanjani. He formerly represented Tehran, Rey, Shemiranat and Eslamshahr twice in the Parliament of Iran, as well as serving a brief spell from Mashhad and Kalat electoral district. 2016 Iranian Legislative Election
Parliamentary elections were held in Iran on 26 February 2016 to elect members of the Islamic Consultative Assembly for all seats in the 10th parliament in the Islamic Republic era and the 34th since the Persian Constitutional Revolution. A second round was held on 29 April 2016 for some constituencies where candidates failed to obtain the required minimum 25 percent of votes cast. The elected MPs served from 28 May 2016 to 27 May 2020. The election was held as part of a general election which also elected members of the Assembly of Experts. This election was the first time that both bodies were elected simultaneously. There were 54,915,024 registered voters (in Iran, the voting age is 18). Principlism is an applied ethics approach to the examination of moral dilemmas that is based upon the application of certain ethical principles. This approach to ethical decision-making has been adopted enthusiastically in many different professional fields, largely because it sidesteps complex debates in moral philosophy at the theoretical level. Rather than engaging in abstract debate about the best or most appropriate approach at the normative level (e.g., virtue ethics, deontology or consequentialist ethics), principlism is purported to offer a practical method of dealing with real-world ethical dilemmas. Abbas Sheibani ( fa, عباس شیبانی; 12 November 1931 – 22 December 2022) was an Iranian physician, university professor and conservative and principlist politician. He was a founding member of Freedom Movement of Iran and member of City Council of Tehran. He also served as a member in both Parliament House and Assembly of Experts for Constitution. He was also Minister of Agriculture from 1979 to 1980 and President of University of Tehran from 1983 to 1984. Principlists Grand Coalition ( fa, ائتلاف بزرگ اصولگرایان) is a principlist coalition and electoral list for the 2016 Iranian legislative election. Muhammad Sahimi
Muhammad Sahimi ( fa, محمد سهیمی; born 22 January 1954) is a Professor of Chemical Engineering and Materials Science, and holds the NIOC (National Iranian Oil Company) Chair in petroleum engineering at the University of Southern California (USC) in Los Angeles. He is also active in journalism, writing frequently on Iranian politics. Career Sahimi received his B.S. degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Tehran in 1977. After briefly working for the National Iranian Oil Company (NIOC), he received a scholarship from the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran and travelled to the US in 1978 (where he has since remained), completing his PhD at the University of Minnesota in 1984. He then moved to the University of Southern California, becoming Chairman of his department from 1999 to 2005. Since then he has held the NIOC Chair.
