The Association of Delaware Valley Independent Schools (ADVIS) is a voluntary, non-profit consortium of independent schools in the Delaware Valley area of the United States. The Baldwin School
The Baldwin School (simply referred to as Baldwin School or Baldwin) is a private school for girls in Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania, United States. It was founded in 1888 by Florence Baldwin. The school occupies a 19th-century resort hotel designed by Victorian architect Frank Furness, a landmark of the Philadelphia Main Line. The building was added to the National Register of Historic Places on April 27, 1979. Baldwin's brother school is the Haverford School, in nearby Haverford. History In 1888, Florence Baldwin founded "Miss Baldwin's School for Girls, Preparatory for Bryn Mawr College" in her mother's house at the corner of Montgomery and Morris Avenues in Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania. The first class was composed of thirteen girls. The second Bryn Mawr Hotel was designed by Furness, Evans & Company and built in 1890–91. Delaware County Christian School (also known as "DCCS" or just "DC") is a PK2 to 12 independent, coeducational, interdenominational day school with an enrollment of approximately 820 students located on two campuses in Newtown Square and Devon, Pennsylvania in the United States. The Crefeld School
The Crefeld School is an alternative school for students in grades seven through twelve, located in Chestnut Hill, Philadelphia. History and mission The Crefeld School was founded as The Miquon Upper School in 1970 by Arnold Greenberg. Greenberg, a former teacher at The Miquon School (a private progressive elementary school founded in 1932), created the new upper school partly in response to requests from parents and former students from The Miquon School who wanted the opportunity to continue their schooling in the tradition of progressive education. Greenberg was granted permission by The Miquon School's board to include the "Miquon" name in the title of his new school, but the two schools were always entirely independent of each other.
