Bruno Corbucci
Bruno Corbucci (23 October 1931 – 7 September 1996) was an Italian screenwriter and film director. He was the younger brother of Sergio Corbucci, and wrote many of his films. He was born in Rome, where he also died. The vast majority of his directorial efforts are lowbrow comedies. He also directed ''I figli del leopardo'', a parody of ''Il gattopardo''. His biggest success came with the long-running "Nico Giraldi" series, which starred Tomas Milian as a foul-mouthed Roman policeman. His 1971 film '' Io non spezzo... rompo'' was shown as part of a retrospective on Italian comedy at the 67th Venice International Film Festival. Massimo Vanni (born 8 July 1946) is an Italian film and television actor. Life and career Born in Rome, Vanni started his career as a stuntman, and had his first roles of weight playing tough guys in several poliziotteschi films directed by his cousin, the director Enzo G. Castellari. He is mostly known for the role of Gargiulo, a comical sidekick of Tomas Milian in the "Inspector Girardi" film series directed by Bruno Corbucci. In the 1980s he also played several leading roles in a number of action and adventure films, often directed by Bruno Mattei and in which he was credited as Alex McBride. Poliziotteschi (; singular ''poliziottesco'') constitute a subgenre of crime and action films that emerged in Italy in the late 1960s and reached the height of their popularity in the 1970s. They are also known as ''polizieschi all'italiana'', ''Euro-crime'', ''Italo-crime'', ''spaghetti crime films'', or simply ''Italian crime films''. Influenced by both 1970s French crime films and gritty 1960s and 1970s American cop films and vigilante films, poliziotteschi films were made amidst an atmosphere of socio-political turmoil in Italy known as Years of Lead and increasing Italian crime rates. Renato Pietro Mori (May 29, 1935 – August 22, 2014) was an Italian actor and voice actor. Biography Born in Milan, Mori started his career in the 1950s, appearing on several television series and acting on stage. Starting from the 1970s, he was often cast in roles of inspectors, police commissioners and men in uniform in poliziotteschi and crime films and TV-series, notably '' Il marsigliese'' and '' La piovra''. Mori was also very active as a voice actor and a dubber. A co-founder of Sefit, the largest Italian company of dubbing, he was the official Italian voice of Morgan Freeman as well as often dubbing James Earl Jones and John Rhys-Davies, among other actors.
