''Asphalt 5'' is a 2009 racing video game developed and published by Gameloft and is the fifth major game of ''Asphalt'' series. It was released for iOS on November 2, 2009, for webOS on January 8, 2010, for Android on March 18, for Symbian^3 and Bada on December 22, and for Windows Phone 7 on July 16, 2012. Gameplay ''Asphalt 5''s gameplay is very similar to that of '' Asphalt 4: Elite Racing'' and '' Ferrari GT: Evolution'', with the player given the option of either tilting the device, touching the side of the screen to steer or using a virtual on-screen steering wheel. The iPhone version of the game uses landscape steering. The game also has a multiplayer mode, both local through Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, and global through an internet connection. There are 30 licensed vehicles available and 17 locations to race at. Reception Upon its release, ''Asphalt 5'' received generally favorable reviews. Gameloft SE is a French video game publisher based in Paris, founded in December 1999 by Ubisoft co-founder Michel Guillemot. Windows Phone (WP) is a discontinued family of mobile operating systems developed by Microsoft for smartphones as the replacement successor to Windows Mobile and Zune. ''JellyCar'' (originally known as ''JelloCar'') is the first in a series of 2D Racing game, driving and side-scrolling video game, side scrolling platform games developed by Tim FitzRandolph and released under the pseudonym Walaber. Initially released independently through Xbox Live Indie Games and later ported to devices using Apple, Inc., Apple's iOS operating system, ''JellyCar'' requires players to drive a car across a two-dimensional landscape while maintaining balance by means of (in the case of platforms on which it is supported) accelerometers. The game features Soft-body dynamics, soft body physics that give it its distinctive gameplay and style. ''JellyCar's'' success led FitzRandolph's employer at the time, Disney Interactive Studios, to pick up the series and release two sequels for multiple platforms.
