Aspen Healthcare
Aspen Healthcare is a private medical company, established in 1988, based in the City of London. It is not connected with Aspen Pharmacare, the South African pharmaceutical company. It was a subsidiary of United Surgical Partners International. In early 2015, Welltower purchased all four of the company's London hospitals for £226 million. The hospitals were then leased back to Aspen which continues to operate them. The deal included Holly House Hospital, Highgate Private Hospital, Parkside Private Hospital and Cancer Centre London. United Surgical Partners International (USPI) is an American ambulatory care company based in Dallas, Texas. It was founded by Don Steen in 1998. USPI currently is active in 28 states. USPI currently operates over 400 ambulatory facilities serving 9,000 physicians and 3.4 million patients annually. Highgate Private Hospital, in View Road, Highgate Private Hospital is run by Nuffield Health. History The hospital was established in 1988. The building was acquired by Health Care REIT, Inc. in 2015 along with Aspen Healthcare's three other London hospitals for £226 million and leased back to Aspen on a 25-year lease. The hospital featured in a reported legal case in tort, Batt v Highgate Private Hospital 004which established that a widower could not recover damages in respect of the cost of the cosmetic surgery which had resulted in his wife's death at the hospital. Claremont Hospital is a private hospital situated in the City of Sheffield, England. It is located at 401 Sandygate Road in the suburb of Crosspool.
