Asok (Dilbert)
Asok ( ) is an Indian intern in the ''Dilbert'' comic strip. His first appearance was March 18, 1996. He is a brilliant graduate from the Indian Institute of Technology. The character is named after a friend and co-worker of strip creator Scott Adams at Pacific Bell. "Asok" is a common Indian name, though it is usually spelled "Ashok" and pronounced "Ah-shok". Scott Adams confesses in his book ''Dilbert 2.0: 20 years of Dilbert'' that he had a coworker whose name was also Asok, with the same spelling he later used, and that he (Scott Adams) had no idea it could be spelled differently. The name is an English variation of the name of the first major emperor of India, Emperor Ashoka. Asok himself is Indian, but that fact was not mentioned until September 2003, although in the animated series 1999 episode "Holiday", Asok mentions he has family living in India. Asok Montri Road
Asok Montri Road, or Soi Sukhumvit 21 (also Asoke Montri Road, th, ถนนอโศกมนตรี, , ), is a major road in Bangkok Bangkok, officially known in Thai language, Thai as Krung Thep Maha Nakhon and colloquially as Krung Thep, is the capital and most populous city of Thailand. It runs north from Sukhuvmit Road and forms part of the Ratchadaphisek inner ring road. It contains many offices buildings and shops. Although the road has a capacity of 35,000, more than 100,000 vehicles use the road daily, causing major congestion. The junction of Sukhuvmit Road and Asok Montri Road is a major road junction known as Asok Intersection, and is also the location of Asok BTS Station and Sukhumvit MRT Station. Asok Kumar Ganguly
Justice Asok Kumar Ganguly is an Indian jurist. He served as the Chairman of the West Bengal Human Rights Commission and as a Judge of the Supreme Court of India who delivered judgements in some high-profile cases like the 2G spectrum case. Early life and education Justice Ganguly was born on 3 February 1947. He graduated in M.A (English) from University of Calcutta in 1968 and then passed LLB from the same university in 1970. Career He started his career in 1969 by teaching in the same school, Khidderpore Academy of which he was once a student. In 1972, he started practice in Calcutta High Court. On 10 January 1994, he was appointed a permanent judge of Calcutta High Court but within 3 months was transferred to Patna High Court. After remaining in Patna High Court for more than 6 years, he was transferred back to Calcutta High Court on 1 August 2000. There he subsequently became senior most puisne Judge in March 2005.
