Asnières-en-Bessin
Asnières-en-Bessin (, literally ''Asnières in Bessin'') is a commune in the Calvados department in the Normandy region of north-western France. The inhabitants of the commune are known as ''Asnièrois'' or ''Asnièroises''. Geography Asnières-en-Bessin is located some 17 km west by north-west of Bayeux, 3 km west of Vierville-sur-Mer, and 4 km north by north-east of Longueville. Access to the commune is by the D194 road from Louvières in the east passing through the north of the commune and the village and continuing west to Cricqueville-en-Bessin. The D198 road goes south from the village through the length of the commune and continues to Aignerville. There is the hamlet of Le Temple just south of the village and Montigny in the south of the commune. The commune is entirely farmland. Asnières-en-Montagne () is a commune in the Côte-d'Or department in the Bourgogne-Franche-Comté region of eastern France. Geography Asnières-en-Montagne is located some 25 km south-east of Tonnerre and 10 km north by north-west of Montbard. The western and northern borders of the commune are the boundaries between the departments of Côte-d'Or and Yonne. Access to the commune is by the D5 road from Montbard in the south passing through the east of the commune and continuing to Laignes in the north-east. Access to the village is by the D119 road from Ravières in the west passing through the village and continuing south-east to join the D5 near the commune border. The D5D also links the D5 at the northern border to the village then continues south-west to join the D905 between Perrigny-sur-Armançon and Nuits. The inhabitants of the commune are known as ''Asnierois'' or ''Asnieroises''. Geography Asnières-la-Giraud is located some 38 km east of Rochefort and 7 km south of Saint-Jean-d'Angély. Access to the commune is by the D150 road from Saint-Jean-d'Angély in the north which passes through the west of the commune and the village and continues to Saint-Hilaire-de-Villefranche. The D120 road from Saint-Jean-d'Angély passes through the east of the commune and continues to Sainte-Même. The D217 road connects the D120 and the D150 in the commune and continues west to Mazeray. Asnières-lès-Dijon (, literally ''Asnières near Dijon'') is a commune in the Côte-d'Or department in the Bourgogne-Franche-Comté region of eastern France. The inhabitants of the commune are known as ''Asniérois'' or ''Asniéroises''. Geography Asnières-lès-Dijon is located just 8 km north of Dijon. The commune lies between the D903 road which follows its western border from Dijon to Savigny-le-Sec and the D974 which follows the eastern border from Dijon and continues to Til-Châtel. The D104 links the two roads through the village and also continues east to Bellefond. The commune is mixed forest and farmland with a substantial urban area covering some 20% of the commune. Asnières-sur-Blour (; oc, Asnieras) is a commune in the Vienne department in the Nouvelle-Aquitaine region in western France. The commune has 180 inhabitants (2019). Asnières-sur-Blour is located roughly halfway between the cities of Limoges and Poitiers. Its land is formed by a 3 percent of steep and grisp valleys, 38% of clay soils in the Seuil du Poitou upland, pink granite soils (21%), diorite soils (22%) and leucogranite soils (22%) in the surrounding "hillock arch". The land is skimed by a 15 chilometers fluviale creek of which 5 km belongs to the French river Blourde. The climate is oceanic with moderate hot and dry summers, slowly raining in the fall and with no excessively cold winters. Toponymy The toponym derives from the Latin word ''asinus'' and the suffix ''-aria'' to mean what has a concern or is a place of donkeys. Asnières-sur-Saône
Asnières-sur-Saône (; literally "Asnières on Saône") is a commune in the Ain department in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region of eastern France. Geography Asnières-sur-Saône is on the bank of the Saône river some 15 km north of Mâcon and 50 km south of Chalons-sur-Saône. The commune can be accessed on the D18 road from Quart-d'Aval in the north-east to the village. The road continues south as the D1 road then turns south-east to Manziat. The D1E branches off in the south of the commune and goes south to Le Chateau. The commune consists entirely of farmland with no other villages or hamlets. The Saône river forms the entire western border of the commune with no bridges across the river. A canal runs parallel to the river joining the river in the south and joining the Bief de la Jutane in the north which forms part of the northern border. Asnières-sur-Seine () is a Communes of France, commune in the Hauts-de-Seine Departments of France, department and Île-de-France Regions of France, region of north-central France. It lies on the left bank of the river Seine, some eight kilometres from the Kilometre zero#France, centre of Paris in the north-western Banlieue, suburbs of the French capital. The inhabitants are called the ''Asniérois'' and the ''Asniéroises'' in French. Name Asnières-sur-Seine was originally known simply as Asnières. The name was recorded for the first time in a papal bull of 1158 – as ''Asnerias'', from Medieval Latin ''asinaria'', meaning "donkey farm". The poor soil of Asnières, where Ericaceae, heather grew in medieval times, was probably deemed suitable only for the breeding of donkeys.
