Aslaug Fadum
Aslaug Fadum (17 August 1925 – 13 November 2016) was a Norwegian politician for the Centre Party. She was born in Sem as a daughter of Olgar Olsen (1897–1939) and housewife Lilly Larsen (1900–1985). After middle school she spent most of her career as a farmer's housewife. She was a member of Sem school board from 1967 to 1971 and the municipal council from 1971 to 1975. She was elected to the Parliament of Norway from Vestfold in 1973, and served one term. She was the secretary of the Standing Committee on Social Affairs and member of the Election Committee. She was a central board member of the Centre Party from 1979 to 1983. Norwegian National Women's Council
The Norwegian National Women's Council ( no, italic=no, Norske Kvinners Nasjonalråd) was founded on 8 January 1904 as an umbrella organization for the various Norwegian women's associations. It was established by Gina Krog whose international contacts had revealed that the International Council of Women was keen to include a delegation from Norway. As a result of diminishing interest, the organization discontinued its work at the end of 1989. Background Gina Krog had been preparing an agenda for the Women's Council in the "Help Committee" (Hjelpekomité) she had run until it was dissolved in 1902. The council brought together the interests of Norway's women's associations with the expectation of the Labour Party's Women's Federation (Arbeiderpartiets kvindeforbund). Vestfold is a traditional region, a former county and a current electoral district in Eastern Norway. In 2020 the county became part of the much larger county of Vestfold og Telemark. Located on the western shore of the Oslofjord, it bordered the previous Buskerud and Telemark counties. The county administration was located in Tønsberg, Norway's oldest city, and the largest city is Sandefjord. With the exception of the city-county of Oslo, Vestfold was the smallest county in Norway by area. Sem, Norway
Sem is a village in Tønsberg in Vestfold county, Norway. Sem was a former municipality in Vestfold. The parish of ''Sæm'' was established as a municipality January 1, 1838 (see formannskapsdistrikt). According to the 1835 census the municipality had a population of 3,590. On 1 January 1965 the district Stang with 126 inhabitants was incorporated into the former municipality of Borre. On 1 January 1988 the rest was incorporated into the municipality of Tønsberg. Prior to the merger Sem was about three times the size of Tønsberg, which had a population of 21,948. The village of Sem has a population of 1,981, of which 42 people live within the border of the neighboring municipality Stokke. The village is situated five kilometers west of the city of Tønsberg.
