Ashtead Cricket Club
Ashtead Cricket Club is a cricket club that plays in the Surrey Championship ECB Premier Leagues, Premier League. The club was formed in 1887 and play their home games at Woodfield Lane, Ashtead. The club has a second ground for junior matches and training, on the former playing fields of Parsons Mead School. In 2014 the club finished runners-up in the ECB National Club Twenty20, losing to winners Chester Boughton Hall Cricket Club, Chester Boughton Hall at County Cricket Ground, Northampton, Wantage Road, Northampton. Surrey Championship
The Surrey Championship is a cricket organisation in Surrey running 6 divisions for 1st & 2nd XI cricket, 4 for 3rd XI and 4 for 4th XI. Since 2000 it has been a designated ECB Premier League. The teams competing in the Premier Division in 2020 will be: Ashtead, Banstead, East Molesey, Esher, Normandy, Reigate Priory, Sunbury, Cranleigh, Weybridge, and Wimbledon. History The competition was founded in 1968 by 17 clubs within Surrey, the idea to create a more competitive form of club cricket, rather than the friendly leagues that had previously been the formats for many clubs. The 17 founder member clubs were: Addiscombe, Banstead, Beddington, Cheam, Dulwich, East Molesey, Epsom, Guildford, Malden Wanderers, Mitcham, Old Emanuel, Old Whitgiftians, Purley, Spencer, Streatham, Sunbury and Sutton. Sean Hunt
Sean Frank Hunt (born 7 December 2001) is an English professional cricketer who plays for Sussex. Hunt is a right-handed batsman and a left-arm fast-medium bowler. Hunt played his junior cricket at Horsley and Send Cricket Club in Surrey. Developing his skills through the youth and adult teams, he later moved to Ashtead Cricket Club in 2020. From Guildford, Hunt was Surrey's academy player of the year in 2019. Kieran Omar Akeem Powell (born 6 March 1990) is a Nevisian sportsman who has played international cricket for the West Indies. He is a left-handed opening batsman.
