Ashok Rajpath
Ashok Rajpath is a road in Patna, the capital of Bihar. It is named after Ashoka, an Indian emperor of the Maurya Dynasty who ruled almost all of the Indian subcontinent from ca. 269 BCE to 232 BCE. It connects Patna with Patna city or Patna Sahib. Starting roughly from Golghar, it run parallel to the river Ganges, and terminates at the Didarganj. It is a busy road owing to the presence of markets on one side and educational institute of Patna University on the other side. 2.2 km-long double-decker flyover is being constructed on Ashok Rajpath. The flyover is starting from Kargil Chowk near Gandhi Maidan to Patna Science College. Patna Science College, established in 1927, is one of the oldest science colleges in Patna, Bihar. It is affiliated to Patna University, and offers undergraduate and postgraduate courses in science. Khuda Bakhsh Oriental Library
Khuda Bakhsh Oriental Library, in Patna, Bihar, is one of the national libraries of India. It was opened to the public on the 29th of October in 1891 by HMJ Sir Khan Bahadur Khuda Bakhsh. Its collection started with 4,000 of Bakhsh's own manuscripts, of which he inherited 1,400 from his father, Sir Mohammed Bakhsh, a lawyer from Patna. The library currently has a very significant collection of Islamic, Sanskrit, Persian, Urdu, Hindi and Kashmiri manuscripts, and art. This includes 35,000 manuscripts (21,000 rare manuscripts and 14,000 small manuscripts), 2,082,904 printed books in Arabic, Persian, Urdu, Turkish, Pushto, Sanskrit, Hindi, Punjabi, English, French, German, Russian, and Japanese. Bihar National College is a constituent unit of Patna University. It is a multi-faculty college and offers courses in Science, Humanities, and Arts at graduate level. Wheeler Senate Hall
The Wheeler Senate Hall is a convention centre of the Patna University situated in the heart of Ashok Rajpath, Patna. History The structure was built to host Patna university meetings, convocations and other functions. Raja Devaki Nandan Prasad Singh of Munger had offered to meet the entire cost of building the senate hall in 1925 and had spent nearly 1.75 lakh on the hall. It got ready in 1926 and was inaugurated the same year by the then Governor of Bihar and Orissa province and Chancellor of the University Sir Henry Wheeler. Pathar Ki Masjid
The Pathar Ki Mosque stands on the bank of river Ganges near the Takht Shri Harmandir Saheb in the city of Patna. Parviz Mirza, son of Jahangir, established Pathar Ki Masjid in 1621. Takhat Sri Patna Sahib also known as Takhat Sri Harimandir Ji, Patna Sahib, is a one of the five Takhats of the Sikhs, located in Patna, Bihar, India.
