Ashok Choudhary
Ashok Choudhary is an Indian politician from Barbigha Sheikhpura in Bihar, India. He has been a Member of the Bihar Legislative Council since 2014. Since June 2019, he is the Cabinet Minister for the Building Construction Department in the government led by Nitish Kumar. He previously was also Cabinet Minister for the Department of Education. He was appointed to the position of Working President of Janta Dal United, Bihar. Political career In 2000 Bihar Legislative Assembly election, he won from Barbigha (Vidhan Sabha constituency) as an Indian National Congress candidate. Later in 2013, he was appointed Chief of Bihar Pradesh Congress Committee. In 2014, he was elected as Member of Bihar Legislative Council. He held the position as Minister of Department of Education and Department of Information Technology in Government of Bihar from 2015 to 2017 and 2020 to present. It consists of an executive, led by the Governor of Bihar, a judiciary and legislative branches. Janata Dal (United) ("People’s Party (United)”) abbreviated as JD(U) is an Indian political party with political presence mainly in eastern and north-eastern India. JD(U) is recognised as a state party in the states of Bihar , Arunachal Pradesh and Manipur and is a part of government in Bihar. The Bihar Pradesh Congress Committee (BPCC) is the political unit of the Indian National Congress for the state of Bihar. Its head office is situated in Patna at the Sadaqat Ashram. Nitish Kumar
Nitish Kumar (born 1 March 1951) is an Indian politician, who is serving as Chief Minister of Bihar since 22 February 2015, having previous held the office from 2005 to 2014 and for a short period in 2000. The leader of the Janata Dal (United), previously he has also served as a Union Minister as the Samata Party member. Kumar first entered politics as a member of the Janata Dal, becoming an MLA in 1985. A socialist, Kumar founded the Samata Party in 1994 along with George Fernandes. In 1996 he was elected to the Lok Sabha, and served as a Union Minister in the government of Atal Bihari Vajpayee, with his party joining the National Democratic Alliance.
