Ashley De Silva
Ashley Matthew de Silva (born 3 December 1963) is a former Sri Lankan cricketer who played in three Test matches and four One Day Internationals from 1986 to 1993. He is, , CEO of Sri Lanka Cricket. De Silva was born in 1963 in Colombo into a Roman Catholic family. He attended Saint Joseph's College, Colombo, where he played in four of the annual Battle of the Saints against St. Peter's College, Colombo, the last—in 1982—as captain. He became the first former Saint Joseph's player to play Test cricket. De Silva began his domestic cricket career for Tamil Union Cricket and Athletic Club in the Lakspray Trophy. He later moved to Colombo Cricket Club where he was playing when the competition attained First-class cricket status in 1989. Match Referee
A match referee is an official appointed to oversee professional cricket matches. Match referees for Test matches and One Day Internationals are appointed by the International Cricket Council (ICC). Most matches below international level do not have a referee. A match referee remains off the field of play at all times during the actual play of the game, observing events from a spectator area. The referee makes no decisions of any relevance to the play or result of the game; such decisions are the sole responsibility of the appointed umpires. Premier Trophy
The Major League Tournament (formerly known as the Premier Trophy) is the main domestic first-class cricket competition in Sri Lanka. It was established in 1938 and has existed under a number of different names. Matches before the 1988–89 season are not considered first-class. Relaunched as the Lakspray Trophy in 1988–89, it was renamed as the P. Saravanamuttu Trophy in 1990–91 and as the Premier Championship in 1998–99. There was a change of format in 2015–16 when it became the Premier League Tournament which was split into Tiers A and B the following year.
