Ashleigh Grant
Ashleigh Isenbarger (née Grant; born 15 May 1997) is an Australian professional basketball player who last played for the Perth Lynx of the Women's National Basketball League (WNBL). Basketball career Early years (2012–2015) Isenbarger made her debut in the State Basketball League for the Lakeside Lightning in 2012. Following her second season with the Lightning, Isenbarger became a member of the West Coast Waves academy for the 2013–14 WNBL season. Her academy stint led to her averaging 7.8 points and 4.3 rebounds per game for the Lightning in 2014. The following season, Isenbarger averaged a career-high 16.9 points and 8.9 rebounds in 22 games for the Lightning. She subsequently earned SBL Most Improved Player honours. In the sport of basketball, there are five players play per team, each assigned to positions. Historically, these players have been assigned, to positions defined by the role they play on the court, from a strategic point of view. The three main positions are guard, forward, and center, with the standard team featuring two guards, two forwards, and a center. 2016–17 WNBL Season
The 2016–17 WNBL season is the 37th season of competition since its establishment in 1981. The regular season begins on October 7, 2016 when the Sydney Uni Flames host the Perth Lynx and is scheduled to conclude on February 19, 2017. Townsville Fire were the two-time defending champions, but they were defeated by the Sydney Uni Flames in the Semifinals. The Flames would go on to take home their fourth WNBL title, their first in sixteen years, after defeating the Dandenong Rangers in the final. 2021–22 WNBL Season
The 2021–22 WNBL season is the 42nd season of the competition since its establishment in 1981. The Southside Flyers were the defending champions, however they failed to qualify for finals. The Melbourne Boomers won their second championship, defeating Perth in the Grand Final series, 2–1. After the 2020 season was condensed due to the COVID-19 pandemic, it was confirmed in July 2021 that the upcoming season is set to be closer to the traditional season fixture played over several months across the summer. In October 2021, a new broadcast deal was signed with the ABC, Fox Sports and Kayo, with an 84-game season fixture announced shortly after. 2021 NBL1 West Season
The 2021 NBL1 West season was the inaugural season of the NBL1 West. After 32 years known as the State Basketball League (SBL), the league was rebranded under the NBL1 banner for 2021. The regular season began on Friday 16 April and ended on Saturday 14 August. The finals began on Friday 20 August and concluded with the women's grand final on Friday 3 September and the men's grand final on Saturday 4 September.
