Asha Sobhana
Asha Sobhana (born 16 March 1991) is an Indian cricketer who plays for Pondicherry women's cricket team in domestic cricket and for Royal Challengers Bangalore in the Women's Premier League. She is an all-rounder, who is a right-handed batter and a leg break bowler. Early years Born in Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala, she found interest in cricket while studying at Cotton Hill Girls Higher Secondary School. Sobhana's cricket journey started when she went for her first district cricket trials and got selected for the district cricket team at the age of 12. She was mentored by former Kerala captain Shabina Jacob in her early career. Although initially she was a pace bowler, once she was bowling leg spin and was then advised by her coach to become a leg spinner. 2023 Women's Premier League (cricket)
The 2023 Women's Premier League, also known as the TATA WPL 2023 for sponsorship reasons, was the inaugural season of the Women's Premier League, a women's franchise Twenty20 cricket league organised by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI). Royal Challengers Bangalore (often abbreviated as RCB) are a franchise cricket team based in Bangalore, Karnataka, that plays in the Indian Premier League (IPL). 2021–22 Women's Senior T20 Trophy
The 2021–22 Women's Senior T20 Trophy was the 13th edition of the Women's Senior T20 Trophy, the domestic women's T20 competition in India. The tournament was originally scheduled to be played from 19 March to 11 April 2022, but was postponed on 5 January 2022 due to rising COVID-19 cases in the country. The tournament took place from 15 April to 4 May 2022, with 37 teams divided into six groups. In the first round of the tournament, Nagaland player Kiran Navgire scored an unbeaten 162 against Arunachal Pradesh. Railways, the defending champions, beat Maharashtra in the final to win their tenth T20 title. Railways cricket team (also known as the Indian Railways) is a domestic cricket team in India representing Indian Railways. Women's Twenty20 is the use of the Twenty20 match format in women's cricket. In a Twenty20 match, the two teams bat for a single innings each, of a maximum of 20 overs. The Inter State Women's Competition was as Indian women's cricket first-class domestic competition organised by the Board of Control for Cricket in India. The competition took place twice, in 2007–08 and 2008–09, with teams competing in two-day matches across five zonal divisions before a knockout stage. Railways were the most successful team in the competition, winning both tournaments. First-class Cricket
First-class cricket, along with List A cricket and Twenty20 cricket, is one of the highest-standard forms of cricket. A first-class match is one of three or more days' scheduled duration between two sides of eleven players each and is officially adjudged to be worthy of the status by virtue of the standard of the competing teams. Matches must allow for the teams to play two innings each, although in practice a team might play only one innings or none at all. The etymology of "first-class cricket" is unknown, but it was used loosely before it acquired official status in 1895, following a meeting of leading English clubs.
