Les Ascott
Leslie Ascott (October 2, 1921 – August 8, 2013) was a professional Canadian football, football player with the Canadian Football League Toronto Argonauts for 11 seasons. Ascott primarily played the offensive tackle position with the Argos and was a part of five Grey Cup championship teams. In 1981 Ascott was inducted into the Peterborough Sports Hall of Fame. In a 2004 ceremony at Rogers Centre, Ascott's jersey number 52 was retired and his name was added to the Argonauts' Wall of Honour. Ascott lived in Peterborough, with his wife of 50 years, Irene. He had two children, Terry and Barbara, and three granddaughters. He died August 8, 2013, in his hometown. References External links Bio - Les Ascott

Roy Ascott
Roy Ascott FRSA (born 26 October 1934) is a British artist, who works with cybernetics and telematics on an art he calls technoetic by focusing on the impact of digital and telecommunications networks on consciousness. Since the 1960s, Ascott has been a practitioner of interactive computer art, electronic art, cybernetic art and telematic art. Ascott exhibits internationally (including the Biennales of Venice and Shanghai), and is collected by Tate Britain and Arts Council England. He is recognised by Ars Electronica as the "visionary pioneer of media art", and widely seen as a radical innovator in arts education and research, having occupied leading academic roles in England, Europe, North America, and China, and is currently leading his Technoetic Arts studio in Shanghai, and directing the Planetary Collegium. Shirley Ascott
Shirley Ascott (10 December 1930 – 29 December 1995) was a British canoe sprinter who competed in the early 1950s. She competed in the K-1 500 m event at the 1952 Summer Olympics in Helsinki, but was eliminated in the heats. Biography Ascott was from Hounslow, Middlesex. During the Second World War, she was evacuated, and studied at Fleetwood Grammar School. She worked in an aircraft factory, and started canoeing in 1950. Percelle Ascott (born 10 June 1993) is a Zimbabwean-English actor and writer. He is known for his roles in the CBBC series ''Wizards vs Aliens'' (2012–2014) and the Netflix series '' The Innocents'' (2018). As a trio, Ascott collaborated with Joivan Wade and Dee Kaate on the web comedy ''Mandem on the Wall'' (2011–2013), the E4 series ''Youngers'' (2013–2014), and the film '' The Weekend'' (2016). Early life and education Ascott was born in Bulawayo, Zimbabwe and moved to England with his family when he was three where he grew up in Penge, South London.
