Asangaon Railway Station
Asangaon is a railway station on the Central line of the Mumbai Suburban Railway network. It is also now a green station. It is the only railway station which serves Shahapur city. It is a busy station; around 75 thousand commuters use this station on daily basis. It is the terminal station for Asangaon local train. Asangaon is situated at the bank of River Bharangi and is in Shahapur Taluka of District Thane. The Mumbai Suburban Railway ( Marathi: मुंबई उपनगरीय रेल्वे) (colloquially called local trains or simply locals) consists of exclusive inner suburban railway lines augmented by commuter rail on main lines serving outlying suburbs to serve the Mumbai Metropolitan Region. Mahuli is an area of the Indian state of Maharashtra, covering about 6km. It is approximately 75km north-east of Mumbai in the 421601 postcode. Features Mahuli Fort, located 2815 ft above sea level, is a popular trekking and rock climbing destination.
