Asaka ( uz, Asaka/Aсака; russian: Aсака) is a city and the administrative center of Asaka District in eastern Uzbekistan, located in the southeastern edge of the Fergana Valley near Uzbekistan's border with Kyrgyzstan. Asaka underwent rapid industrialization during the Soviet era. Currently, it is the second biggest industrial city in Andijan Region, the first being Andijan. Asaka is home to the first automobile assembly plant in Central Asia, namely UzAutoMotors (formerly UzDaewooAuto). Etymology The origins of the city's name are uncertain. Some sources say that it derives from the Saka words "asvaka" or "as-saka" which mean "horse" or "horsemen", respectively. The Asaka (朝香) ''ōke'' (princely house) was the eighth oldest branch of the Japanese Imperial Family created from branches of the Fushimi-no-miya house. Asaka Kubo
is the lead vocal singer of the group A+Jyuc . She currently belongs to the show-business production company ''PLATINUM-S'', and is a former member of Pyw-A. She got her start in 1998 when she was scouted and given the opportunity to become a gravure idol. She posed primarily in school uniforms & underwear. Along with the usual Gravure Idol photosets she also produced a semi nude photograph collection (also known as a Photobook) and an image video. She switched companies in 2000 and stopped temporarily in 2001 for unknown reasons. In late 2002 she re-emerged and released her final photobook. , abbreviated as , is the regionally prestigious prefectural high school in Koriyama city, Fukushima, Japan. It was founded on September 11, 1884, originally as Fukushima Junior High School. After being renamed Asaka Junior High School in 1948, it was changed into a high school due to the restructure of the Japanese education system on April 1, 1948. History Asaka High School was a boys' school for a long time, but has recently become coeducational. Simultaneously, it abolished its rule mandating school uniforms. The old building, which had been formerly used as the main building of former Fukushima ordinary junior high school , is conserved in the front of its site, as the Asaka history museum.
