Asahidake Onsen
is a small village in Daisetsuzan National Park, Kamikawa Subprefecture, Hokkaidō, Japan. The village consists of a few hotels and a youth hostel. Daisetsuzan National Park
, or Taisetsuzan is located in the mountainous center of the northern Japanese island of Hokkaidō. At , Daisetsuzan is the largest national park in Japan, and is approximately the size of Kanagawa Prefecture. Daisetsuzan, meaning "great snowy mountains", an apt description of these peaks. Asahidake Ropeway
The is Japanese aerial lift line in Asahidake Onsen, Higashikawa, Hokkaidō, operated by . The ropeway line, founded in 1968 and refurbished in 2000, climbs Mount Asahi-dake of Daisetsuzan Mountains, the tallest mountain in Hokkaidō. The line mainly transports spectators of alpine plants in summer and autumn colors in autumn, while there also is a ski area. Asahi-dake
is a mountain located near the town of Higashikawa, Hokkaido and the tallest mountain on the Japanese island of Hokkaido. It is part of the Daisetsuzan Volcanic Group of the Ishikari Mountains, it is located in the northern part of the Daisetsuzan National Park. Its native Ainu name is ''Kamui-mintara'', which means "the playground of the gods".
