Asahan Regency
Asahan Regency is a regency in North Sumatra, Indonesia. Following the creation of the new Batubara Regency (which was carved out of Asahan Regency on 15 June 2007), the regency now covers an area of 3,702.7 square kilometres; it had a population of 668,272 according to the 2010 census and 769,960 at the 2020 Census. Its administrative centre is now at Kisaran. The Regency surrounds but now does not include the city of Tanjungbalai which was formerly its capital. The Asahan Sultanate was located in the region. Pekan Asahan
Pekan Town is a town in Pekan District, Pahang, Malaysia. It is also the royal capital of the state. Its name comes from a flower, the '' Bunga Pekan''. Pekan is also the name of the district the town is situated in, and a parliamentary constituency in its own right. It is the home of the state's royal family headed by Sultan Abdullah of Pahang. It is also the hometown of the second Prime Minister of Malaysia, Tun Abdul Razak Hussein, and his son, former prime minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak. Najib is also Pekan's current Member of Parliament. The Masjid Abdullah, a landmark in Pekan which dates from the 1920s, and the newer Abu Bakar Royal Mosque is near the Sultan Abu Bakar Museum. Asahan is a state constituency in Malacca, Malaysia, that has been represented in the Malacca State Legislative Assembly. The state constituency was first contested in 2003 and is mandated to return a single Assemblyman to the Malacca State Legislative Assembly under the first-past-the-post voting system.
