Arvind Dave
Arvind Dave (born 1 May 1940) is the former Governor of four states in India. He was the Governor of Arunachal Pradesh during 1999–2003;, Governor of Manipur, during 2003–2004 and acting governor of Meghalaya and Assam briefly during 2002 and 2003 respectively. He hails from Udaipur in Rajasthan. He was the Director of the Research and Analysis Wing (RAW) - India's external intelligence agency - from 1997 to 1999. The Research and Analysis Wing (abbreviated R&AW; hi, ) is the foreign intelligence agency of India. The agency's primary function is gathering foreign intelligence, counter-terrorism, counter-proliferation, advising Indian policymakers, and advancing India's foreign strategic interests. It is also involved in the security of India's nuclear programme. The National Security Council (NSC) ( IAST: ''Rāṣṭrīya Surakṣā Pariṣad'') of India is an executive government agency tasked with advising the Prime Minister's Office on matters of national security and strategic interest. The Pokhran-II tests were a series of five nuclear bomb Nuclear weapons testing, test explosions conducted by India at the Indian Army's Pokhran#Pokhran Nuclear Test Range, Pokhran Test Range in May 1998.
