Arvin Transit
Arvin Transit is the operator of mass transportation in Arvin, California. Four routes operate in and around the city, which serves most of the urban development. There are additional routes which connect Arvin with Lamont, and the Tejon Industrial Complex. There is one transit hub, located at the intersection of Bear Mountain Boulevard and Plumtree Drive. Service overview As of July 2015, Arvin Transit operates 3 fixed routes and a Dial-A-Ride service. Arvin Local route runs entirely within the city. Arvin – Lamont route runs between Arvin and Lamont, with one express trip on 7:00am and 5 other local trips. Arvin – Tejon route is an express route that runs between Arvin and the Tejon Industrial Complex, which is located next to the Golden State Freeway ( Interstate 5). Arvin is a city in Kern County, California. Arvin is located southeast of Bakersfield, at an elevation of . As of the 2010 census, the population was 19,304, up from 12,956 at the 2000 census. Lamont is a census-designated place (CDP) in Kern County, California, United States. Lamont is located south-southeast of downtown Bakersfield, at an elevation of . The population was 15,120 at the 2010 census, up from 13,296 at the 2000 census. Geography Lamont is located in south-central California about from Bakersfield and about from Los Angeles. State Route 223 (SR 223), locally known as Bear Mountain Boulevard, is a state highway in the U.S. state of California that runs west to east through the agricultural land south of Bakersfield in Kern County. Running from Interstate 5 (I-5) to State Route 58 near the city of Arvin, it also intersects with State Route 99 near Greenfield. SR 223 forms a truck route for transporting goods to the three main corridors in the area, I-5, SR 58 and SR 99, without having to drive through Bakersfield.
