Artus Court
The Artus Court, formerly also Junkerhof ( pl, Dwór Artusa; german: Artushof), is a building in the centre of Gdańsk, Poland at Długi Targ 44, which used to be the meeting place of merchants and a centre of social life. Today it is a point of interest of numerous visitors and a branch of the Gdańsk History Museum. History The name was taken from the very popular medieval legend of King Arthur – a symbol of chivalry and gallantry. First in England, then in other European countries, his name was given to the houses where knights and aristocrats used to meet. In Poland Artus courts were founded and visited by bourgeoisie. There were several courts in Rzeczpospolita but the one in Gdańsk was by far the most famous. In the early 14th century Artus Courts existed in the Hanseatic towns of Elbing (Elbląg), Riga and Stralsund and similar courts like the House of the Blackheads at Riga and Tallinn. Schandmaul
Schandmaul is a German medieval folk rock band from the Munich area. As well as using modern instruments such as the bass and electric guitar, the band also utilizes instruments typically used in Medieval folk songs such as the bagpipes, hurdy-gurdy or shawm, to produce their trademark folk rock sound. Schandmaul was nominated two times for the Echo Music Prize and has so far had six albums in the top ten German album charts and three top-ten albums in Austria. The name 'Schandmaul' translates roughly to 'evil tongue' and refers to their mascot of a grinning skeletal jester. History Schandmaul was founded in the summer of 1998 when six musicians from Munich and the surrounding area, then members of different bands, came together for a folk rock concert. They were dissatisfied with performing nothing but cover-versions and so decided to write a few songs of their own for the event. Victoria Dockside is a property development on the waterfront of Tsim Sha Tsui, Hong Kong near East Tsim Sha Tsui station. The development opened in stages between 2018 and 2019 at a cost of US$2.6 billion. First founded in 1910, the site was originally known as Holt's Wharf. The development includes K11 Musea, a shopping centre; serviced apartments, office space, and a hotel. The development is home to a 284-metre skyscraper designed by architectural firm Kohn Pedersen Fox; it is currently the 8th-tallest building in Hong Kong.
