Arturo Mina
Arturo Rafael Mina Meza (born 8 October 1990) is an Ecuadorian footballer who plays as a defender for Ecuadorian club Mushuc Runa. Mina was called up for the 2015 Copa América making the cut for the final 23 this time around. On 15 November 2016, Mina scored his first international goal ever for Ecuador in a 2018 FIFA World Cup Qualification match against Venezuela, the first goal in a 3–0 victory for Ecuador. Club de Alto Rendimiento Especializado Independiente del Valle, known simply as Independiente del Valle, is a professional football club based in Sangolquí, Ecuador, that currently plays in the Ecuadorian Serie A. Founded in 1958, the club plays its home games at Estadio Banco Guayaquil, which opened in March 2021 and has a capacity for 12,000. In the 2013 Ecuadorian Serie A Independiente finished runners-up, and they won their first league title in 2021. The 2016 Copa Sudamericana ( pt, Copa Sul-Americana 2016) was the 15th edition of the Copa Sudamericana, South America's secondary club football tournament organized by CONMEBOL. The finals were originally to be played between Brazilian team Chapecoense and Colombian team Atlético Nacional. However, on 28 November 2016, LaMia Flight 2933, which was carrying the Chapecoense squad to the first leg, crashed on the way to the José María Córdova International Airport. There were 71 fatalities, including 19 of the 22 Chapecoense players on the plane. CONMEBOL immediately suspended all activities, including the scheduled final matches, in the early morning of 29 November.
