Arthur Stanhope, 6th Earl Stanhope
Arthur Philip Stanhope, 6th Earl Stanhope (13 September 1838 – 19 April 1905), was a British people, British Conservative Party (UK), Conservative Party politician. From 1855 to 1875 he was styled Viscount Mahon. Career He was a son of Philip Stanhope, 5th Earl Stanhope by his wife Emily Harriet Kerrison. As Viscount Mahon, he sat for a few months of 1868 as a Member of Parliament (United Kingdom), Member of Parliament for Leominster (UK Parliament constituency), Leominster and returned to the Commons as member for Suffolk East (UK Parliament constituency), Suffolk East from 1870 to 1875. He was Chairman of the National Union of Conservative and Constitutional Associations in 1875. Lord Mahon succeeded to the title of Earl Stanhope on the death of his father on 24 December 1875. He was appointed First Church Estates Commissioner in December 1878, and served as Lord Lieutenant of Kent from 1890 to 1905. James Stanhope, 7th Earl Stanhope
James Richard Stanhope, 7th Earl Stanhope, (11 November 1880 – 15 August 1967), styled Viscount Mahon until 1905, and known as the Earl Stanhope from 1905 until his death, was a British Conservative politician. Background Stanhope was the eldest son of Arthur Stanhope, 6th Earl Stanhope, and Evelyn Henrietta (née Pennefather), daughter of Richard Pennefather of Knockeevan, County Tipperary and Lady Emily Butler. The Hon. Edward Stanhope and Philip Stanhope, 1st Baron Weardale, were his uncles. Lord Mahon was commissioned a second lieutenant in the Grenadier Guards on 5 January 1901, and went with his battalion to serve in South Africa during the Second Boer War. John Charles Pratt, 4th Marquess Camden (9 February 1872 – 15 December 1943), briefly styled Earl of Brecknock in 1872, was a British peer. Background and education Camden was born at Eaton Square, London, the third but only surviving son of John Pratt, 3rd Marquess Camden, by Lady Clementina Augusta, daughter of George Spencer-Churchill, 6th Duke of Marlborough. He was a first cousin of Lord Randolph Churchill on his mother's side. He notably served as Treasurer of the Household in 1852 and between 1858 and 1859 and as Vice-Chamberlain of the Household between 1866 and 1868. Frederick St John Barne
Frederick St John Newdigate Barne (5 September 1842 – 25 January 1898) was a British army officer and a Conservative politician who sat in the House of Commons from 1876 to 1885. Barne was the eldest son of Frederick Barne of Sotterley HalI, near Wangford, Suffolk and his wife Mary Anne Elizabeth Honywood, eldest daughter of Sir John Courtenay Honywood, 5th Baronet. His father had been M.P. for the rotten borough of Dunwich in succession to earlier members of the Barne family. He joined the Scots Fusilier Guards in 1859 and retired as captain and lieutenant-colonel in 1872. Barne was elected at a by-election in 1876 as one of the two Members of Parliament (MP) for East Suffolk, and held the seat until the 1885 general election, when constituency was divided under the Redistribution of Seats Act 1885. John Major Henniker-Major, 5th Baron Henniker VD DL (7 November 1842 – 27 June 1902), was a British peer and Conservative politician. Background and education Henniker was the son of John Henniker-Major, 4th Baron Henniker, and was educated at Eton and Trinity College, Cambridge, Political career Henniker was elected MP for East Suffolk in 1866, succeeding his father. He held the seat until 1870, when he succeeded his father as fifth Baron Henniker and second Baron Hartismere.
