Arthur R. Albohn
Arthur Raymond Albohn (December 27, 1921 – June 29, 2008) was an American Republican Party (United States), Republican Party politician who served eight terms in the New Jersey General Assembly, from 1980 to 1996, where he represented the New Jersey's 23rd legislative district, 23rd Legislative District for his first two-year term of office and then served the remainder of his time in office representing the New Jersey's 25th legislative district, 25th Legislative District. Biography Born on December 27, 1921, in Ridgewood, Queens in New York City, Albohn attended Stuyvesant High School. He earned an undergraduate degree from Columbia College, Columbia University in 1942 and then graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree from the Columbia School of Engineering and Applied Science in 1943. New Jersey General Assembly
The New Jersey General Assembly is the lower house of the New Jersey Legislature. Since the election of 1967 (1968 Session), the Assembly has consisted of 80 members. Two members are elected from each of New Jersey's 40 legislative districts for a term of two years, each representing districts with average populations of 232,225 (2020 figures), with deviation in each district not exceeding 3.21% above and below that average. To be eligible to run, a potential candidate must be at least 21 years of age, and must have lived in their district for at least one year prior to the election, and have lived in the state of New Jersey for two years. Whippany is a unincorporated community located within Hanover Township in Morris County, New Jersey, United States. Whippany's name is derived from the Whippanong Native Americans, a tribe that once inhabited the area. Whippanong meant "place of the willows", named for the trees growing along the banks of the Whippany River.
