Arthur Kenney (basketball)
Arthur Kenney (born March 5, 1946) is a retired American professional basketball player. He played at the power forward (basketball), power forward and center (basketball), center positions, and was nicknamed "The Great Red". High school Kenney played high school basketball at Power Memorial Academy (PMA), in Manhattan, New York City. At Power Memorial, he was a teammate of Lew Alcindor (later known as Kareem Abdul-Jabbar). The team's head coach, head basketball coach, coach was Jack Donohue (basketball), Jack Donohue, and its assistant coach was Dick Percudani. In May 2000, Kenney's high school senior season team of 1963–64, was named "The Best High School Team in American History", by the National Sports Media Association, National Sportswriters Association, and it was inducted into the Catholic High School Athletic Association's Hall of Fame as, "The Team of the Century". Serie A2, known for sponsorship reasons as Serie A2 Old Wild West, is a men's basketball league in Italy. It constitutes the second-tier of the Italian league pyramid, below the first division LBA and above the third division Serie B, with promotion/relegation occurring between these leagues. It is run by the Lega Nazionale Pallacanestro (LNP), itself regulated by the FIP, the Italian federation. The LNB Pro A, currently known for sponsorship reasons as Betclic Élite, is the top-tier men's professional basketball league in France. The competition has existed since 1921. Since 1987, the Ligue Nationale de Basket has governed the league. The bottom two placed teams from each season are relegated to the second tier level Pro B. Jack Donohue (basketball)
John Patrick Donohue, M.S.M. posthumous (June 4, 1931 – April 16, 2003) was an American-Canadian basketball coach. Donohue was the head coach of the senior Canadian men's national basketball team for 16 years, and he led them to several international successes. He was inducted into the FIBA Hall of Fame, in 2013. Coaching career Donohue served as a basketball coach for St. Nicholas of Tolentine High School. He then served as the head coach of Power Memorial Academy, from 1959 to 1965. At Power Memorial, Donohue had a career win–loss record of 163–30, including winning 71 straight games with the star center of his team, Lew Alcindor (later known as Kareem Abdul-Jabbar). Donohue's 1963–64 Power Memorial team was named, "The High School Team of The Century". Donohue went on to work as the head coach of the College of the Holy Cross, from 1965 to 1972.
