Arthur Humberstone
Arthur Roland Humberstone (17 April 1912 – 31 December 1999) was a British animator, artist and director, whose credits included ''Animal Farm'', '' Yellow Submarine'' and ''The BFG.'' In 1946, Arthur was one of the trainee animators enlisted at J Arthur Rank's new studio being set up at Moor Hall, Cookham by ex-Disney Director David Hand. He worked with Halas & Batchelor and as a senior animator with Martin Rosen on ''Watership Down'' and ''The Plague Dogs.'' Arthur Humberstone's influence on the film ''Watership Down'' is discussed in the chapter "Revisiting the production of ''Watership Down'' through the Arthur Humberstone Animation Archive" in the booWatership Down: Perspectives On and Beyond Animated Violence'. Animal Farm (1954 Film)
''Animal Farm'' is a 1954 animated film directed by animators John Halas and Joy Batchelor. It was produced by Halas and Batchelor and funded in part by the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA), who also made changes to the original movie script. It was based on the 1945 novel of the same name by George Orwell. Although the film was a financial failure and took 15 years to generate a profit, it quickly became a staple in classrooms across the United Kingdom, the United States and other English-speaking countries like Australia, Canada, and New Zealand into the 1980s. The film rights for a film adaptation of ''Animal Farm'' were bought from Orwell's widow after she was approached by agents working for the Office of Policy Coordination (OPC), a branch of the CIA that dealt with the use of culture to combat communism. ''The Addams Family'' is an American animated sitcom adaptation of the Charles Addams single-panel comic for ''The New Yorker''. The show was produced by Hanna-Barbera Productions for Saturday mornings in 1973, and was later rebroadcast the following season. Jackie Coogan and Ted Cassidy, who played Uncle Fester and Lurch, respectively, in the 1960s television series, returned in voice-over roles. The cast also included 10-year-old Jodie Foster, who performed the voice of Pugsley Addams. The show's theme music was completely different and had no lyrics or finger snapping, but retained a recognizable part of the four-note score from the live-action series. Noddy is an English character created by English children's author Enid Blyton. Noddy first appeared in a book series published between 1949 and 1963, illustrated by the Dutch artist Harmsen van der Beek from 1949 until his death in 1953, after which the work was continued by Peter Wienk. Television shows based on the character have run on British television since 1955. Noddy The first book explains Noddy's origins. He is made by a woodcarver in a toy store but runs away after the man begins to make a wooden lion, which scares Noddy. The Horse Hospital is a Grade II listed not for profit, independent arts venue at Colonnade, Bloomsbury, central London. It has a curatorial focus on counter-cultural histories, sub-cultures and outsider as well as emerging artists. It delivers through frequent events, underground film and artist's moving image screenings, and exhibitions. Founded in 1992 by Roger K.
